I'm not sure if everyone else is seeing the ADD's on the bottom of the page> The company selling the scooter covers is in Hong Kong. They sell the covers at auction prices on Ebay starting at .01 cents. I "won" one of them about 7 months ago, paid the $12.00 shipping, and in 16 days got a GREAT cover. It is made of NYLON. Has a hemmed in elastic "lock" strap, and a carry bag. I would HIGHLY recommend buying one if only to keep the dew off at night. I don't think anyone could buy the material and make the cover themselves for the price it cost to have it sent to your mailbox. I have a 12x12 shed that I keep my scoots in, and use the cover every day. (less washing the scoot) Just keep it off the hot parts till they cool.

I was wondering about those ebay ads myself, didn't know if it was just me. :) I will look into getting one of those covers, I need one, still in the process of figuring out building a shed/shop. My scoots have to sit outside. :'(

Bikes and scooters tend to rust if left covered outside.
My scooters are in the rain (I have no garage) and doing just fine.
Once I left a motorcycle covered for two weeks and everything made of metal has already started rusting!!!

Defiantly understand the point. They have to get air to dry. Kinda like leaving a boat covered. you wind up w/ a ball of mildew. These are not the waterproof type of cover. They are more of a breathable nylon. I would certainly open it up on nice days just to let the bugs out. When you scrunch it up into the carry bag they are about the size of a softball. I bid $5.00 w/ about 20 minutes left on the clock. I "won" one for .88 ($12.00) shipping. I think it is a GREAT bargin even if only for a "dust" cover. Which is really more of what they are.

I have "breathable" cover. The only good thing is that dust, leaves and dirt remain on the cover. Water passes through and there is even more rust underneath, on the bike itself.
To be honest, I do not know what is worse, permeable or impermeable covers...

People are afraid of scoots and bikes being on the rain. Like I said, my scooters are outside all the time and I had ZERO problems connected with water and rain. However, when I had a bike, I had rented a garage, somehow I treated that bike much better than I treat my scoots that are basically workhorses. :)

I have one of those open type air filters, and when I even wash the scoot I have to be careful not to get it wet. If it was left in just a little rain, I would have to pull the spark plug to give the water an exit. It will run just fine in the rain, just can't leave it parked.

I have the pleasure of putting my Kymco's in a garage, but even in the summer I cover them when they are outside with a decent grill cover. They are cheap and available almost anywhere.

..I keep mine in th house at night, but I have had to leave it out in the rain overnight, camping ...got up the next morning, dried off the seat...fired her right up and went to work...no problems...even used the kick-start to get her going...
..a cover would be nice for those camping trips tho...
