On the way to work this morning and after a bump on the bridge, the throttle when soft, no tension on the throttle tube and zero throttle response.
Something has snapped, and i will have to wait till my lunch hour to get it sorted. Only thing that i was lucky enough for it to snap about 200m from the office.
The DT200 is a 2013 with only 14000kms, and this happens.
Very questionable built quality.

Sounds to me like the throttle cable has broken.
Well, I have had brand name motorcycles and also there the cables did not last much longer than around 15,000, miles though...

I've had a crappy branded scooter in the past, i had it 2005 till 2013, throttle never gave me any problems.

Agree. Never broke a throttle cable in 90K miles (mostly motorcycles) of riding. Current ride - 2005 GV250 no cable problems and 16K miles. I could have come off? also check that it is routed properly and that someone didn't work on it and mess something up. Throttle cable design - basically all the same even for drive by wire, fuel injected, carb etc. All version the throttle body door is controlled by two cables and a spring. Once cable pulls open the other cable pulls shut with help from the spring.
