I was wondering if you guys out there with the newer agility 50cc's do you ever hear and feel a change in idle when you press the brake at a stop? I get a pretty substancial change, does that mean that my idle needs to be adjusted?? The idle is a little high right away in the morning but I warm it up until the idle speed goes down on its own, then the idle sounds sweet.
-
I'm assuming that the drops? That's probably due to the extra power draw to turn on your brake lights. I notice that on my zx50 occasionally. It probably doesn't need to be adjusted unless the motor dies as a result.
-
Mine actually seems to pick up or get stronger feeling and sounding, not higher rev but louder!!
-
That's interesting! I don't have any ideas for that one! ???
-
...wow...i'm in the dark...

From the way you explain that, I would suggest you are adding more SOLID MASS to the frame when you apply the brake. The tire /wheel are basicly floating untill the brake pads make a mechanical bond to the rest of the frame. I think you are simply getting a different resonation due to more mass...

I have a super 8 150 and noticed this also but only when I brake with the left brake. I tried each one separate and it only happens on the left (rear) brake while stopped at a light/stop sign.
My thought was since you need to hold the left brake when starting and it has an automatic choke, it is this automatic choke that I notice. What do you think?

..the A50 has the Auto-bystarter, but once everything is warmed up, it shouldn't come into play...
..wonder if the brakelight wiring is crossed up whith the A/B wiring....
-
Still thinking it's a MASS deal... If it were the choke on a warm engine at idle I'm sure it would stall
-
..yeah, you're probably right...say, are you catholic??..
..all this preachin' about MASS...
??? :D

Could it be that the noise you left behind is finally catching up to you ;D ?

Axy got me into touching the screen... Can I get an AAAAMMMMEEEENNNN. Just another thought, Maybe the rubber engine mounts (isolaters) are worn. This may decrease the spiritual aspect. Still like the mass idea.
-
..i dunno..i think itsa new scoot...

MASS IRIDIUM HA HA HA MASS IRIDIUM AAAAHHH!

-
I can play a MEAN drum machine!
-
no offense but can we get back to the subject about this......can I put a sound bite or video on this forum?? then we can really find out what it is, I was riding today and felt it again( only left brake). It sounds like its pretty rough on the engine but it doesnt seem like it wants to die either!!
-
Sorry for the mental lapse. I can only give a few guesses, Perhaps the brake cable when taught is hitting a panel, or the frame. Maybe the belt "flapping" inside the cvt. If you are sitting still, can you make it happen each time you apply the rear brake? If so I would have someone else apply the brake, and inspect/ touch everything involved. I am thinking you have a harmonic problem more than a mechanical prob. If the scoot is DEAD still, there is nothing I know of that ties the brake to the engine that would create a drain on the engine running. If the scoot has to roll SLIGHTLY to create the symptom, perhaps you have a bad return spring in the clutch. This would give a slight shudder upon stopping!

thank you i will keep ya posted!!

...awwman, we can't be doom and gloom all the time...
:o ;D :D :) :P :o

My Agility 50 does this same thing. I agree with Zombie when he says it's just a different sound to the vibration of your scoot!
-
I figure it is just you feeling the vibration more since pulling the brake pulls the trans/wheel tighter to the frame.
-
thanxs guys!!
that is probably it......I just installed a homemade camera mount, hopefully gonna get some vid online soon, what is the best way to upload a big file to the forum??
-
I saw how slinger, and jpres did it by uploading to utube, and providing a link

Please tell me if this works, Kymco Agility 50cc (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42Pbyq0cgA8#normal) A little showing off the scooter when I first bought it!!
