Title: 12 VOLT OUTLET
Post by: glaswurks on February 19, 2015, 11:07:24 PM
HI ALL,

DO YOU SUPPOSE THE 12 VOLT OUTLET PLUG ON MY DT300 WOULD BE SUFFICIENT TO OPERATE A TIRE INFLATOR?

Nope, anything else than a cell phone will blow the only 0.8A fuse, that is hidden behind the front fairing.... cumbersome to get to if it is blown. You could unofficially go up to a 3A fuse, but this still is not enough for your tire inflator.

I had the same thing with my GTI. The factory outlet (under the seat) is only fused for a cell phone charger. I bought a marine grade accessory plug and wired it direct to the battery with a 10amp in-line fuse. I use it for my GPS and my battery tender when the scoot is up for the winter. Pretty simple DIY project. Hardest part is finding a mounting point for the plug.

Upgraded mine to 3A just to make sure it doesn't blow with GPS .

I opened the front end and rewired with # 10 wire and installed a  panel fuse beside the plug in so I can fuse it to any amp. thing I want,  pictures in downtown section from don jack from  scotland,
