Title: My 2009 agility 50cc died

My scooter lost power and died mid throttle, then I couldnt start it for like 15 minutes even with kick start. Is it the rain, it was lightly raining and it was about 7am in hawaii (60degrees). Has anybody had this experience before?? My scooter is in good shape and that just happened out of the blue!!

Some of them will not run at all even if it just water on the road. It should have started again by now. Try riding around the block next time it rains to verify. You may be getting water in the stator/ pulsor coil, or the spark plug wire is shorting. You can also try a garden hose to lightly spray around. (start at the bottom and work your way up) These are also symptoms of a stator or cdi going bad, but I would suspect the water first.

..yeh, I rode mine to work the last 2 days in the rain...Performance is way off, but I've never had a problem with it just not running while riding in the rain...

Hey thanx for the tips.....I will check connections and maybe there is a way to seal off different stuff to prevent from future problems. It is very important that I am able to ride in rain(sometimes heavy) because in hawaii it rains almost everyday! I bet that the stator or maybe the ignition getting wet is the issue.

You can try putting dielectric grease on the connections.  It's available at just about any auto parts store.

From what I have read, Vaseline can be used as a substitute for dielectric grease.  Both are non-conductive, the downside to Vaseline is when it gets hot it has a tendency to run out of the connection.

It is USUALLY water creating a "bridge" to ground somewhere so take a close look at EVERYTHING. Even a spray bottle will tell if you have all the suspect parts accessible

...just blew out my headlamp in the rain yesterday..

I thought I had everything sealed tight, but a drop of water found it's way onto the headlamp...
