Late afternoon 30 degree F ride....I take my coffee, warm gloves (& cheap 'rain' gloves), house keys, towel, and tire inflate & repair kit, digital air gauge, and 2 plastic discs for the stand on soft ground, genuine Kymco tool kit (no clue what's in there). It is supposed to snow again tonight - so this ride was scheduled therapy. (Wife's orders)

And I look forward to the time I can once again make my daybreak rides to Tim Horton's, on this scooter or the LIKE.
I prefer to sit outside and enjoy the......whatever.

Looks similar to what I have in mine. I added a flashlight, multitool and little first aid kit.

Oh yeah, there's a flashlight in there somewhere.... dont like multitools because I risk losing fingers since I can never figure out how to fold it up!

Agreed. Folding tools are like bear traps for me.

I, too, had wife-ordered therapy: it was sunny and 48*f yesterday, so she said to get on the scoot and take a ride. I was heartbroken ( ;) ) but decided she was right and I had to suffer through it. Today, rain and 37* - sure glad I listen to my wife!

Burrrrrrrrrrr. My mechanic buddy has barred me from tools. I suppose a flash light would be good, but I have one on my cell phone. Hmmmm, I need to figure out how to be more Bear Grills with my LIke....

Texas roads sometimes have speed limits of 75mph, even secondary roads ... I was pushing my Like to about 60mph, then getting a check engine light , ( maybe the rev limiter kicking in ) I reduced back down to 50mph and no more check engine light ... Has anyone replaced their ECU with the programmable version ??

Monitor cylinder head temperature (http://www.trailtech.net/digital-gauges/tto/temperature) with a spark plug sensor . . you may have unrealistic expectations for an air-cooled 163cc engine.

The long neck mirrors are from Italy - sold on American ebay. Goofy looking - but I can see safely behind me now. Keep them waxed - apparently it never rains in Italy.
And, an extended ride in the mid 50's is a healthy top speed for the LIKE200i - with that air cooled 163cc engine, the wheel size and wheel base. If you need more speed you might want to trade up.....rather than trying to do a work-around on this scooter as built (and priced).
Stay off the rev limiter, if there is one, keep that one quart of oil fresh and valves looked after, use good gas, run it regularly, and it will probably last a long time - and a lot of miles.
This scooter has a lot of good qualities as an urban scooter - giving a lot of pep in city situations as needed, but she ain't a highway cruiser. I think if you are finding the rev limiter - the Kymco boys are trying to tell you something..

Also, even if you really wanted to it would prolly cost another $1000 or more to convert the ecu, because the like have the ecu integrated with the throttle body and everything. You would have to redesign the whole system. Like STIG said, keep the cost down and if you want to go 70 on a daily basis put the $$$ towards a 250+cc. However, if you do want a bit better high speed cruising, get 15-16 gram Dr pulley sliders and your rpm will be slightly lower at 60, with some acceleration sacrifice.

A programmable Rev Limiter ( $150 ) ... What do you guys think ?? And by the way, what are the specs of the factory Variator Weights ?? Sorry, I've only been a Kymco Rider for 700 miles now ... Also I need a few pointers on where I could tap off some 12v power to install a few blue, super-bright LEDs for night time riding safety ... I usually like to tap into the rear tail light power ,but what's the easiest spot to tap in ??
