Quite common. If you have the manual I would do a quick test on the stator also. Both parts failing is not un-heard of.

I dont think a faulty rectifier will make it stop running course the Kymco Super 8 4 stroke CDI gets its power from the batteri.
So you can disconnect the generator and still keep running until the battery get to low to power the cdi.

...yup...just like you can kick-start your scoot, even if your battery is primarily... "dead"

Hi, i've had a Kymco super 8 4T since near the start of the year, i've only had to recharge the battery once but that was when i hadn't used it for almost two weeks, how long was it until the last time you electrically started your moped & how long have your tried to charge it for?
You're best bet is probably to buy a new battery.

3 months later...

no im not exacty sure what happend to it. The time the scooter was stolen and they tryed to short circuit some wires... that might have destroyed the regulator/rectifier... also i was trying to short circuit the scooter my self because i wanted to se if it realy was that easy to start the scooter without a key... and i might have connect the wire wrong because the fuse did blow at one point so i think it was the thives or my self that broke it.

The scooter worked for some time... maby some days after that because the batteri still had a charge so you could still drive the scooter for som time even when the regulator/rectifer broken.
