Scoot is all cleaned up, clean oil, tuned, new rear tire "nail", under cover.
It is cold, snowy, windy, and rain.
It is KILLING me. I want to ride!.
I have cold weather gear but, these conditions are much.
-
I know what you mean. Mine are in the Garage too. All put away....Every year I put the snow blade on my Craftsman Tractor, the bikes in the shed and the tractor in front of my car. This year I haven't. Besides that, the bike is $6.00/wk. for Gas, Car is $26.00.

Come on man, pull that nail, dip it in some rubber cement and put it back in, pump it up and ride to the nearest auto parts or tire repair place for a plug. Unscrew the screw or pull the nail and your golden.
Ride baby ride!

My buddies in Oz. are gearing up for spring. My bud's up north, are setteling in for winter, and I just put on a long sleve shirt cause it's getting chilly. (50ish)
For a small world it sure has a lot of rooms.

Last week we had 8 inches of snow. Last 3 days, the temps have been up in the high 40s and low 50s, so all of that white nastiness is gone! I got to ride the last 2 days - it was like a breath of fresh air to get out of the big F-150 and not hear that gas sucking sound coming from the engine. My little Lance was just sipping tiny bits of gas! I sure hope your weather improves so you can get some riding time in the near future. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

61 degrees Wednesday... 30 today .
Scoot is well insulated under 15 inches of snow on the shed . ZZZZZZZZZ

I pulled the nail and plugged with sticky rope. Rode it that way for a month while waiting for a new tire to come in. The plug held good and did not leak. The tire had 8000+ miles on it so I decided to put a new one on.

Winter weather really sucks, Boo! Guess that's why so many head to the south latitudes for the winter (which has not done so good for warm wx for the last few years!). Have heart and be brave, this too, shall pass!

Here, when the rain clears, it usually gets bitter cold again. But today the rain stopped, and it's 60 degrees!! I'm definitely getting out asap and riding until my butt is numb!
A bit more wind than I like, but I guess you have to choose your battles!

This upcoming wednesday jan. 7th here in southern indiana will be the coldest day yet this year, 19°f day, 2°f night, it'll be burr as a motherfu%½#$!!! But i feel ya man! For me though, im using the truck this week, next week back to the scooter with 40°f temps ::)
-
We're hitting freezing Temps for the next few days here in the PanHandle.
Time to bring in the yard dogs, and stay toasty warm.
-
going to be cold in TampaBay also. Hate winter! :-[
-
Cold in TB? What 75deg................better get ya parka on or you'll freeze to death!
-
Wind Chills of -30 to -40 (below zero ) in Maine tonight. Watcha whining about ? ???
-
Wow. And I'm fretting Wednesday when we're supposed to have twenty mile per hour winds and a low of seven degrees!
-
-30/-40?? We need to install a wall up there. It's making the rest of us cold.
I don't know how you can deal w/ that. 50* is the coldest I can bear. Beyond that everything comes to a stand still for me. Like the air froze solid. I know... I'm a train wreck.
-
Don't you like the sensation of the breeze in your hair and your nostrils freezing shut when you first go outside ?
0 to -13 out today. Not quite as much breeze ...think I'll sit on the deck for a Margarita ! ;D
-
Flip flops, and a sun dress no doubt... Hardcore Yankee to the bone.
I slept w/ 700 pounds of dogs last night. Even for them the "pack competition" ends at 40*.
I have an outside pack, and an inside pack. They can NEVER cross paths unless they have a common enemy... cold! There is the occasional showing of teeth when one gets to bossy looking for a spot but I growl louder than all of them. Daddy Rules!
I just realized why I am mostly single...
-
I'm a "Rounder" meaning I ride all year long.....of course living in Florida helps. :P
-
I like to ride all year if I can.but this year its not the snow and ice stoping me its the cold its been 6 or below out.and I have been sick the past few weeks because of it.this realy sucks.

Z keeps bragging about warm weather I'm gonna pass the hat to fedex his butt up north to be with the eskimo's. See what he says then.

I'll kick in some funds for that !!
Send him to Maine , so he can see his daughter , and I can put him up in my dogs' house ...or in the shed with my bike .
Love ya , Z-Man !! :-*

It's all relative
-
I was told today by a coworker that saw me pull in on my scoot last night that he has hardcore biker friends that wouldn't even ride in the conditions I've been riding in. Like the USPS, rain, sleet, and snow. And usually slow.
He says he's gonna brag about me to them ha ha.
-
I get the same down here. Not many people use a scooter for Primary transport. Never mind in less than perfect weather.
-
Took up the offer of a ride to my daughters gymnastics thing tonight. The wind is what really deterred me

Man , how do you tolerate all that heat ? More than twice as warmas it is here ...at least we still have the nice breeze .
Me... I like a little chill to the air . Reminds me of when I lived in Area Code 906 ! Maine's got nothing on that !
Thinking I may go try and get some fresh Brookies and skate a bit...Sunny out there, gonna need sunglasses on the ice . 8)

I used to live for the cold when I was ski'ing but now... Not so much.
In fact those 20* or less days were the best. The snow would be frozen hard as ice, and all the weekend warrior skiers would stay home. I'd usually have the mountain to myself, and could run as fast as my ski's could go.
Hunter mountain in NY was my favorite for those frozen days. It is a small mountain, and I could take a five minute run in about a minute and a half. Actually I'd still like to give it a go... I think I'll bring my own Morphine just in case. ;)
-
Mountains in NY? Bwahahahaha, you sure you don't mean termite mounds?
-
LOL... Yeah... They call it Hunter Mountain but you're right.
Thing is it was close enough to home (2 hrs.) that I could just run up there, and spend the day hurting myself.
Killington Vt. was about twice a month but Hunter was 3 days a week.
During the summer is was Mohonk Mount. for climbing,
and the abandoned Granite caves in Ellenville for general mayhem. There are miles of caves you can drive a dump truck thru. In fact many of the diesel fans (ventilation) are still in there. The propellers they used are approx. 12 feet in diameter, and made of wood. I always wanted one...
They sealed the mountain w/ concrete but lots of areas have caved in so there are plenty of openings to repel into.
I knew one fella that died in there. He was free diving, (miles of tunnels were flooded, and crystal clear) and never came back out. The place sort of lost it's charm after that.

Only 32 degrees here in Austin, TX. Can't wait for it to warm up just a bit so I can enjoy my new Kymco Like 200i! Proud new owner as of yesterday, got a pretty good deal after the armed forces discount they're having right now, $2,099 + TTL out the door! :) Anyone here around Austin? Great little forum here!
-
I'm not in Austin but I'd like to say, Welcome to the forum, and Thanks for your service. I really believe that war should be fought over here... but that's in another thread ;)
