hey all
i havent checked the full forum but at least i know there isnt a topic called like this ...
I was just wondering if there is significant difference in fuel consumption between the carb 2007 model and the inject 2010 model? and/or the earlier / later (500) models.
thx

No. Kymcos first fuel injected (500i) is a gas guzzler too.
The newer 300i (Downtown) and 400i (Xciting) are better.

I've been averaging around 53 MPG on my 08 Xciting. I don't think it's great but it's better than my Kia sportage (about 28 mgp) and my Chevy Sonic (about 32 mpg). So, I'm happy.
I try to use the bike as often as I can. ;D 8)

The carb version is so much faster!

My 09 fi is faster than my 07 carb version. And it gets about 5 more miles to a gallon.

Bongo-Dude :-* What is your MPG at around a steady 65 MPH? If I can save up enough $? I may look at a new 2013-14? I'll keep my fingers crossed. :-*

I cruise around 65 to 70 when the road, and the law, permits. I can get up to 55 if I watch my right hand. It drops to as low as 45 with a full load, some headwind, and I lose control of my right hand. I am left handed naturally, so the right does get away from me once in a while. On my last long cruise - from San Antonio to Palestine - I had saddlebags, topcase, tent and bedroll and dropped to somewhere between 46 and 50.
We've gotta meetup sometime, Sissy Mary. You don't live that far from me, I think.

I get 45 to 50 mpg most all of the time with mixed rural, city and highway/ freeway use @ 55 to 70 mph typical.
Fuel injected engines normally get better mileage than carb models---all things being equal.

Bongo-Dude. If I am ever going to cruise through Texas, I will let you know. We could meet up at a truck stop or something? :-*

Or maybe out close to the Texas - New Mexico border. I was at Amistad a few months ago. How close is that to you?

Phoenix :-*
