Title: Quonnon 125 Speedometer Problem

Hello,
I just bought a used Quonnon 125 , everything seems fine but the speedometer just stays at 0 while in motion. Could anybody point me to the right direction on solving this problem.

I have'nt looked at the parts fiche but I would start at the pickup. It's either cable driven or sensor driven.
If its a sensor you can test it w/ an Ohm meter, and you should see resistance. I don't know the number but if its 0 then your on the right track. If it is cable driven that cable should pull out in one piece, and have a square box shape on both ends. If not it snapped.

I hope this helps get you started, until someone else has an idea.

Usually the cable... I think you can replace it with a Honda CB125 cable if you can't find an original Kymco part... not so sure though...

Garage thinks its the speedo drive. Cable is ok. Now the problem is finding KYMCO parts in the UK. Any good KYMCO parts dealer in UK?

There is a driving gear, and a driven gear. The speedo end uses a magnetic coupler. Have them verify which end is not working.

If no one has a good dealer... That's the best place to start.

You have to ID what is not working tho.
Install the cable to the driven end, Disconnect it from the speedo end, and spin the wheel. Grab the end of the cable and see if you can stop it.  Both ends of that cable should be SQUARE meaning box crimped. It the tire end is spinning the cable, and the cable is boxed.... The speedo head is bad.

Thanks! I think its the speedo end. The cable itself is fine. The site above is an American site, looking for a UK dealer.  :(

I called couple of dealers on the kymco site with no luck. I cant believe its so difficult to find parts for Kymco

Seeing that the odometer is involved I don't think a dealer will stock the assembly.
In the USA only certified repair shops are allowed to swap out odometers.
They are bonded, and responsible for any mileage discrepancies. It may be similar there... IDK.

For the moment forget about a dealer, and forward your queries to Kymco UK.

Ps... I hope queries means the same thing there. I wouldn't want to upset any fags. (I here they travel in packs)
