Hello,
Im considering purchasing a used 500 (orange model :) ) with only 6000 miles.
Atm i have a majesty 400 and the servicing is often a hassle as lots and lots of plastic needs to be removed...
I already read that the diaphragm is easy to get to ... how aobut valve clearance service work?
I imagen oil, brakes and airfilters are all pretty easy?
thx 4 the input

The Xciting 500 is pretty easy to service, the oil is very easy to change. There is access to the air filter in the seat bucket. Cvt cover comes off very quickly. The valves are a major pain to get to, last time I had to do one ended up dropping the engine hanger bolt so the engine would drop lower. You don't have to do them very often tho. The x500 is a great bike that won't disappoint you.

Thank you for the info.
And how about the lights? In the majesty its all but comfortable to change the headbulbs.

Not comfortable either, much nested fairings. Not difficult, just time-consuming.
But my X500 from 2007 still runs on its first lights.

For a maxi-scoot the front noise panel actually Comes off very easily.

I have over 53,000 miles on my orange 2007 500. I have never touched the valves. Stock clutch etc. Change the carb diaphragm/slide if it is original as it will tear do to age and bad quality gas? Other than that, get on and ride. My head light is original. :-*

Forgot, when u change oil, replace filter with a K&N 147. Get the style with a nut on the bottom. It makes changes much more easy. :-*

I saw someone post a eBay link, maybe STIG, x500 for under$4000 shipped. Friking steal. Good luck, they are awesome bikes.
