New member and wanted to say hello.
I've been lurking here for about 6 months, learning what I could about my 500i and enjoying the forum. Have now traded my 500i for a 700i.
Thanks for a great forum!

I have the 2013 Xciting 500ri. What made you want to go to the 700? What is your comparison of the two?

Previous to the 500i I owned a Suzuki Burgman 650 for two years. I enjoyed the 500i, but felt it was sluggish when I put the wife on the back.
The dealer allowed me to take home his demo 700i labor day weekend and I rode it for over 300 miles. I found it not only to be much more powerful than the 500i, but it rode and handled much better as well.
I have only 350 miles on my bike, so, about total 650 miles on the model. My first impression of it is that it rides and handles much better than the 500i or Burgman. It handles more motorcycle like than scooter like; if that makes any sense. It seems like I can comfortably ride harder thru the corners with it. It is much more powerful than the 500i and somewhat more powerful than the Burgman.
Its riding position is very close to the 500i; a little bit crowded. The Burgman has more leg room. I'm 6 ft tall with a 32 inch inseam.
It appears to get better fuel mileage than the 500i or Burgman. Both the demo bike and my bike averaged 56 miles per gallon. My 500i and Burgman averaged 45.
What I don't like about it is the mirrors and seat. I prefer the fairing mounted Burgman mirrors; the 700i mirrors are too close. The seat slopes too much for my liking; you have to adjust your seating position each time you hit a good bump. I found that if the wife is on bike, that levels the bike out where the sitting position is much better. I'm sure Kymco made the seat this way for shorter riders; they can slide forward at a stop and reach the ground.
Overall I'm pleased with it.

You can't forget that screaming two cylinder sounds awesome!!!! The MyRoad is on another level than the x500 in all aspects.

I road a 700i and liked everything about it, except the slope in the seat, and everything (including mirrors) where to close. The slope killed my back. (Had bad back for years & operation). So I can not ride the bike stock. If I could afford one, I would have a daylong seat made for it. This would cure the problem as the slope would be removed, and I would be able to slide back in the seat further. Great bike. 56 MPG very good! :-*

GW, if you don't mind, what did you pay for it? I've been interested myself in the 700.

Porkie, I sent you a PM.

Congrats on the new ride and I enjoy finally hearing something from an owner. I currently own several Burgman 650's (my first I bought new in 11/03) but have been very interested in the 700i. I like the Judge Dredd look of the bike. Personally just looking and sitting on one I think I would have to change the mirrors to a fairing mounted style (love the Burgy mirrors) and put the LED turn signal lights in from the non US model just to make it look the way I think it should. Good gas mileage and would like to hear about it as time/mileage go by. My Burgys around here average around 45 mpg like yours did though when I get outta state I tend to get higher (slower speeds than So Cal and better fuel out of state) around 50-52 mpg. One stretch of the I-70 heading to Moab one tank I even got 59 mpg!
Keep up informed on how it goes. Question for anyone what is the recommended interval for the CVT belt on the 700i?

Installed a Givi V46 trunk with backrest for wife on Monday. Givi didn't have a mount in the US for it. So, I modified the one I had previously mounted on my Xciting 500i. I think it looks better on the MYROAD. It looked large on the 500i and hung over the rear end.
The wife went riding with me on Sat. for the first time. It was a perfect day to ride in the mountains of Western North Carolina. There was a clear sky and the temps were in the 70's. We gassed up and headed out.
My wife is a very petite gal, so she doesn't affect the handling of a bike too much. The MYROAD did very well. It could accelerate up the steepest grade easily. It rode very well and was very stable in the corners. The brakes were very good even riding two up. I gassed up when we got home and calculated the mpg's; 52.2 mpg.
I had 622 miles on it when I got home. So I did the 1st service on it. Took about an hour. Everything was easy to get to and the job went smoothly. Future services will be much more time consuming. They will require an air filter change. That will require removing the GIVI mount, luggage rack, seat, center compartment, and tail/side cover.
The wife and I rode again today for most of the day. Very nice day again today; clear and cool. Averaged 53.8 mpg today.
Didn't find anything further today that I didn't like about it.

Taiwan Big Scooter Shop might make a fairing-mounted mirror conversion for the 700. Ask them on their FB Page:

Not trying to troll here but, damn! I rode with my gf on my 50 and that slowed down with her and I on it. My old 163 barely slowed down with her on the back. My current 300 doesnt flinch at our combined weight. So how big are you and/or your wife since you were slowing down a 500? Or is it the other way around? How sh**ty is that 500 if it cant handle two people?

I'm about 180 lbs and the wife is about 106 lbs. I like to ride spirited here in the mountains of North Carolina. I guess it's just a matter of what you have been used to riding and what your expectations are. The 500 is very capable of riding two up, but I was accustomed to the power of the Burgman 650.

Oh I get you. I wouldnt want to go back to a 163cc.
-
What did any of you pay for your 700i scoots?
-
The MyRoad is impossible to sell we have a 2013 for $8000 and can't give the damn thing away.

B&L, where is your dealership? :-*

With his handle I'd say Vegas. ;D

Portland, or

Portland... He lost!
I think Portland is an annex of Jersey. Sister countries as it were.
You can find either one on Google Maps, under 4'th world countries. Good luck finding a Sherpa to take you there.

How about a update on you 700. I thinking of it instead of a Suzuki 650,had one but the $5000.00 belt broke. Never again. My 500 xciting dropped a valve, less than a year old. Have a Suzuki MC c50 but miss the scoots. Thanks

I just got a 700 MyRoad this weekend. I tried the burgman exec first but it put pressure on my lower back and only way legs did not hurt was stretched out. The 700 I have none of these problems. It did take me 15 min to fix my mirrors to the way I like them. They are mounted weird compared to other motorcycles. I got it to ride with my wife and we could not afford a bigger bike and she does not like cruisers. Bike is powerful and has tons of storage.

There is a dealer outside MSP that last week was offering a leftover 2014 brand NEW 700i MyRoad for $5999 + $225 in fees.
If I didn't already have my Burgman 650 I'd be riding back to Las Vegas right now on a new 700i MyRoad.
I had a xciting 500ri and liked it, but the smoothness and power of the 650 with twin cylinders makes a BIG Difference. I also like the 700i because it is far less complex than the Burgman 650. To be honest with you, before I would get a 2013 or newer redesigned smaller Burgman 650 I would certainly look at getting a 700i MyRoad.
Enjoy your MyRoad and keep us updated on it.

That's way over priced. The belt is only $350 at Ron Ayers online. Now if there are other things needed then parts could be as high as $1,600. Labor generally runs $900-1,200 if you choose to have someone do the repairs, not cheap true but not $5,000.
