hello brothers , actually i replaced my headlight beams yesterday with xenon lights but i ddnt find any 35 watts :-X so i got the 55 watt , and am wondering is there any problem with this replacement ? ??? ???
-
hello mysterio, I installed HID's a couple of days ago, they are 55w and, touch wood, I have not had any problems, just lots more light!!
hope this helps,
Don.
-
oh well that's great ,as i'm afraid to damage the battery or the wires dunno just fears :ov
-
Nothing will get damaged, you might want to check your voltage at idle to make sure it's over 13v our you might run into charging problems. But the DT has a low battery light, so if that didn't come on while idling your good.
-
the light # is H 8 for our scoots, and it is 35 W. I installed HID lights , h 8 or h11 fits,. I never tryed 55 w. might try that for high beam, what # did you use, I have HID on low beam only, very good light pattern side and front,
-
Did you use a light kit or just replace the bulb?
-
I think you have to use a light kit, it needs 22,000 volts I think to start the light, then it takes the same 12 volt to keep it lite,
I ran wires from the battery to the lights to start, and wires from the headlite wires to keep it lite,. then I changed all the other lights to Led lights to keep the over all power watts down,. the guy who installed 55 w. bulbs check the light housing for high heat, don't want to melt your headlights,. just a thought?
-
Hello de dee, thanks for the info, I will check the light housing! Never gave the extra heat a thought! I'll keep you guys posted.
Cheers,
Don.
-
Well am not sure but I guess its H8 like the stock one
And I just replaced it with the stock without using lit kit , I dnt know what is lit kit tho :o
And about the heat its normal almost less than warm

Does anyone know if a PS250 High Beam can be independently adjusted separate from the Low Beam?

The high beam and low beam are one bulb, so no they adjust together.

That's what i was afraid of, thanks.

hello guys, I managed to take a couple of pics of the 55w HID's, hopefully you'll be able to see them!! first pic is originals, second is the HID's.
I bought one of those modulating LED's for the brake light, I tried it and didn't like it, it didn't seem as bright. I have a very short video, and I will try and post to you tube, link to follow!
cheers,
Don.
-
That's sick!!!! I swear by the HID kits, and i will until LED slip ins get brighter and cheaper. The headlights on your DT look almost like a Yamaha R1!!!
-
Thanks mate 😊 I'm glad I went down the HID route!!
I'm sure with a few more mods I'll have her performing like an R1!!.....Now where did I put my spanner!! ;D ;D ;D
-
You ever see the glowing red devil eyes people do on R1's? That would look really cool for running lights on the DT.
-
Nice look for your DT don ;) ;)
-
I tried searching for the red devil eyes but couldn't find any pics bettin, so if you know of any let me know!
thanks mysterio, hopefully she will look better once I have installed the fog/spot lights!!
cheers,
Don.

so guys which type of the red devil eyes will fit o the DT
am thinking to buy pair as it's not illegal here in my country xD
am searching on amazn but am confused . any help ?
-
I don't think anyone will make s direct fit kit for the DT, you will have to custom make them!
-
What Hid kit did you guys use to get that awesome brightness! How much should I excpect to pay for a good HID kit, i see them very cheap on ebay but i dont know what fits or how much to pay for good ballasts. As always thanks so much!

I've always had pretty good luck with these kits. Cheap, but I've had my B&W 55w Hi/low kit for 2+ years and its still kicking. I have NEVER had anyone pull in front of me a night since getting this kit, it's almost too bright from the front but Ill take too bright over not being seen. It takes a little wiring but pretty much plug and play, you just need to find a good spot to mount the ballast and run the power wire to the battery. It's also a good idea with the HID kits to install a toggle so you can turn on and start your bike with the HID off since they draw a fair amount more power and can drain the battery. Also I suggest getting the 35w kit if you have a scooter smaller than 250cc. My B&W can handle the 55w kit but when its below 50F out and idling my voltage is pretty low, fine when cruising or when warm though. The 150cc style scoots have a much smaller stator and can only power a single 35w HID kit. Don't believe what you read about "hid takes less power", that's BULL****. If you scooter takes dual headlights, get the 35w kit with two HID's.
