hello all, just a quickie to let you know "I'm still loving it!!" I've had my dt since april and I've just got back from a 400 mile round trip and the dt performed superbly!! the dt has been one of my best buys. I thought my old aprilia atlantic 500 was good, but, in my opinion, the dt is far better, apart from the seat!! which is a little uncomfy after a couple of hours  ;D ;D
I installed the dr pulleys 14gs, and the performance on the motorway was excellent. I got to 93mph (slight downhill) which I never expected and was very pleasantly surprised at!!
all in all its a fantastic scoot that will do me for a few years to come!! (hopefully!!)

you are pleased with your DT.
Could you tell much difference after installing the Dr Pulley sliders?.
I have a set for my GT but, have not installed them yet.

I put 15.5g sliders on it, very good/extended top speed and from 75mph+ to max speed is a lot easier compared to stock rollers.

Only thing I am not that happy besides the seat is that I can see some oil leakage (very little, won't drip to the ground but I can see it all around the engine from bottom)
Will have my dealer inspect that this Nov. hopefully warranty could cover that.

BTW, I accidentally damaged the thread of the gear oil filler port, now i will have to find a place to do re-threading. Better get t torque wrench than just your instinct

I know that feeling! I've just passed the 1 year/15000 mile club on my DT300 and I cant believe how much I enjoy this scoot. Gets lots of looks and good gas mileage to boot.  I ride with a friend or 2 who have large Harleys and a Honda Goldwing and I have no problems keeping up with them.  And the maintanence is fairly easy if you're good with tools, patient and have a manual. I've replaced both tires, adjusted valves, replaced both sets of brake shoes, and all the oil/air maintanence required with a standard metric wrench and socket set.

I'm glad to hear you are also enjoying the Downtowner. I use mine to commute almost everywhere. I have no problems with the seat on long rides though my helmet can give me a headache. I might look into this in a future post & inquire about good helmets for long distances. Happy riding

Try using 1/4" drive for retightening smaller fasteners. A larger drive and wrench increases the risk of overtorquing a small fastener.

Boo, the sliders make a big difference, the only downside is the higher revs at lower speed. I might, depending on kfc androids reply, go slightly heavier to lower the low speed high / rev scenario.

kfc android, how is the lower speed / take off with the heavier slider?
