Title: Uh-Oh
Post by: Stig / Major Tom on July 30, 2014, 09:29:36 PM
Reading the instructions on my Honda oil filter:
Apply clean motor oil to the filter's 0 ring.
Spin on the filter and torque to specs.
Start engine and check for leaks.

Follow these oil change instructions exactly and I'd bet $5 you aren't going to find any oil leaks!
 ??? Guess why. ::)

You tighten an oil filter to specks? Gee I tighten by hand and I'm good to go.

No oil needed, it's a Honda: the tolerances are so fine that friction cannot happen. Just a tube of graphite lube is all that is necessary. ::)
