Title: Screwed or not?
Post by: ispud on September 28, 2009, 05:10:53 PM
When checking oil level do you screw the dip stick in or not?  My other scooter you don't.  I read owners manual and shop manual and neither one answers that question.  Will write kymco tech guy and see what he says.

The manual says DO NOT SCREW IT IN.
This is interesting. The first brand of scooter/bike I have encountered where the dip stick does not have to be screwed in.

I cannot find it in my manual - checked again today.  My manual says "Issued: 2005.12"  Do we have same manual?? If so what page has info on oil checking?

Thanks,

found it!! was in pre-ride inspection, I was looking at oil change page.  Does say "Don't screw it in".  Also say "Riding with insufficiet engine oil will cause breakdown easily."  Kinda cute.
