Hello guys,
I was researching a few things tonight. Looks as if the GTI 300 and the Xciting 400i have the same stroke of 72mm.
I wonder if this means that the cylinder, piston and head would fit on the GTI engine casting?
Would be cool if this will work. A little more horsepower and torque for a few hundred bucks.
What are your thoughts?

Look up the engine case numbers for both. If it it a simple matter of bore size I imagine you may be on to something. I imagine it would entail the cylinder/piston/head/cam/carb/intake manifold to complete the swap

If you look back through some old post, I mentioned that Kymco putting the 400 engine into the 300 frame would make for one hot scoot.
A 364 pound scoot with 34 hp would be the ultimate.
Concerning a parts swap, I wonder if bearings would need to be beefed up and crank hardened to handle the extra pressures?.

Thanks for the replies guys. Being that the stroke is the same, I'm sure that the bearings and crank are the same as well. Should or might be a direct fit on hopefully.
Bigger injector and the ECU and should be good to go. Would be better if that while engine fit on to the 300 frame.
Hopefully the 400 xciting will be available to the US market soon. I cannot seem to find part numbers for the xciting 400 anywhere.

You have more potential in the stock cylinder than you think. If you're already thinking about doing a cylinder swap then you should have the technical ability to do basic work first. I almost guarantee you could get more than 34HP without changing displacement. Take the head off and take it to a good head shop have them port the sh** out of it and shave a tad off the bottom. Order full Dr. Pulley thans and you might not want to even do more. I was looking through the manual for the gt and the MRP 78mm kit for the 250s is LARGER bore than the stock Gt cylinder. Possibly a better option than the Xciting 400. I would doubt they changed the cylinder much from the old style 250 engine and new 300cc generation.

P.S. There is no such thing as a "quick engine upgrade" that involves upgrading bore lol.

looking for stock reliable upgrade. Boring and scooping heads lead to major problems down the road.....literally! I think that stock power will last you alot longer in the long haul.
I researched the two engines and the stroke is the same. the only question is: I wonder if the cylinder bolts are the same pattern?? How do I find out if they are? Simple....just order a set of cylinder gaskets for the GT300 and the XC400 and if they are the same pattern, looks like I have a simple upgrade!!

A light port job will not decrease reliability at all!! You ruin into problems when you race port a cylinder head and take away too much material assertions the valve guide. You could gain a hp or two just by cleaning up the ports and polishing the exhaust port. I'm sure they make a cam in Taiwan.
