Title: R16 agility airbox restrictor

hello, can you tell me if this restrictor in r16 agility (which lets in less air) must be or not...
and if not what main jet be matched to it.

...On my r12, I removed the airbox, installed a high-flow air filter, 102 jet...

i want to keep original airbox...do you know if the restrictor must be there or not?

...mine did not have a restrictor...

...I would suspect that if you remove the restrictor, you will have to increase your jet size...

..don't run lean!!

That's a baffle to redirect water. It will not change the amount of air flow if you remove it!

i put an #86 ;)

..in my experience with my r12, an 86 would work just fine with the stock air box...

..and zombie said that's just a water deflector anyway...

The whole key to the air box is, the inlet/ outlet sizes. Very little inside will change the volume of air moving in or out. The baffle only redirects the flow of air to remove any water that may have gotten in. the stock box can be gutted, without changing the amount of air that can enter or exit. Think about a milk jug with 2 straws... only so much in, and out.
