Having trouble removing variator nut.
Want to make sure before I go further.
"Right hand thread"?
Counter clockwise to loosen?.
So far I have used a 1/2" ratchet, power bar, electric impact wrench, and a couple of hits with a compressor and impact.
Last year the shop where I bought the scoot replaced an oil seal behind the variator. Who ever put the nut on must have used a four foot cheater bar.
Want to make sure before I try again.
Also, cannot spread clutch pulley with my fingers. Feels solid as a rock. Does the bell have to be removed before the pulley will spread open?.
thanks boo

He's taking off the variator nut of this 300i....has the locking tool holding it w/wood so he can spin it counter-clockwise.
When I get a big axle nut or somesuch stuck like that... I coat it in WD40 and let sit overnight...try again in the morning.
Good luck

That variator nut busted my chops.
Will try again another day.
Replaced the studs on my variator holding with hardened steel ones.
When I try again, I`ll use a long cheater bar and have a new nut on hand in case I have to cut the old one off.
Thanks for everything.
