I was wondering what the freeway cruising speed is for the GT? Im buying one so I can go on the freeway and would love to know what speed everyone usually rides at. I had a scooter shop here tell me my Like can only go WOT for a few miles before doing damage to the engine. This is the first I've heard of this. I seem to get a different story every time I talk to someone new.

Not so sure you'll kill it in a few miles but IMO it's not built for the freeway.
I'm on a DT300 and cruise easy at 70mph. Still a lot of throttle left from there.

I think you mean the Like isn't built for the freeway yes? I do know it's not a freeway bike. When I bought it I had no intention of doing any freeway riding. Of course, the more I rode and the more I found out about clubs around here and the type of rides they go on the more I started to want a bike with more CC's so I could do some freeway riding. That's why I'm looking into buying a People GT300i.
I test rode a Downtown a couple weeks ago and hit the throttle from a stop light and was at 85mph before I knew it. Not used to anything with that kind of pick up. I will say I cannot wait until I get my GT! I love my little Like 200i, but it does not compare to the GT.

My speedometer is GPS verified and I can cruise comfortably at 70. She has more left, but I never pushed it.

Its a common story my friend. I thought I could get around an a 200cc scoot but it wasn't long before I needed to hit the highway on a regular basis so I moved to the 300. IMO the GT300i I'd the bomb. Was my first choice but it was a little "tall" for my short body.

I regularly go 75-80 mph for an hour or so at a time. In AZ the speed limits on the interstates are often posted 75, with many going well above that. Bike seems to run great. I've had it up to 94, but only for a short time as it was working hard and certainly doesn't belong there. I do worry if the belt can take the heat generated from prolonged periods of high speeds.

I have a 300i downtown and on the super slab its 75 to 80 mph. did a ride to the east coast and rode at 65 to 70 all the way, Im 230 lbs. dressed to ride and its good for 200 miles per fill up , I dont think the gt gas tank is as big as the downtown, 12.5 lts. about 3 1/2 gal. dress well and ride safe Don

I want to say thanks for all the great info. I'm still waiting on the happenings at work but I hope to have my GT very soon. I really can't wait either. There are so many great places to ride outside of the valley that I just can't get to on my Like. I just can't seem to post it for sale though. Kinda like a member of the family now. I do really love the little guy. I have had so many compliments on it since I bought it as well.

looking at your profile I see you live in the Phoenix valley... As a reference on performance; I have often ridden mine from Scottsdale to Prescott right up I-17 and have even passed up Harely riders on the steep parts. No problem maintaining speed. The GTi is a sweet ride. 2.4 gallon fuel tank, so it is limited to 130-140 miles between fuel stops.

Your right Neo. I think we see that it's over 150cc, and of course we are taken in by the styling. It's such a great looking bike. And the price isn't bad at all for a well made scooter. Then we buy it, fall in love with it, then realize we just can't do those things we didn't really know we wanted to before we started riding. Like going on overnights, and longer all day rides. That's how it went for me.
I know your going to love your GT when you buy it. I can't wait to ride mine everyday and I have only had it for a little over a week. Except that the seat isn't that great and get an Airhawk or break down and have it redone and the GT is an incredible bike.
Give us an update if and when you get your new GT and best of luck buying it. Ride safe, mscmkr
