Found out a 1 gallon red fuel tank from AZ fits perfectly in the top case, extra 80miles without worrying about the next gas station.

Well, that is a thought, but I'm thinking that would make me uncomfortable.
A) seems a bit of weight high up, and way out on the end, of a scooter's center of gravity
B) maybe stopping for gas every 75 miles might give the keester a welcome break
C) might it be better to keep a large fuel can in the garage & fuel the scoot before each ride?
D) is it an actual 'tank' for safely transporting gas - or a plastic gas can?

You could have a polypropylene fuel cell made. I use Sealand for custom marine tanks, and they are reasonable. Separate fill, and vent systems. A dpdt for fuel senders, and a separate manual petcock. Maybe 2-3 hundred complete.

Good idea zombie but I'll stick with an $8 1 gal tank. Here the fun riding is out in the sticks where there's less traffic and no gas stations. 1gal of water weighs 8.5 lbs and gas is lighter so the weight isn't an issue at all.

Well put.
Although we don't consider vapor issues with cycles the enclosed areas of a scoot should be of at least some concern. Where the "open" body of a cycle allows gas vapor to dissipate that may not be the case with a scooter. With no spark protection on any of the electrical stuff a spark and some vapor could be bad news.
Those with marine interests get this better than most. A tablespoon of gas in an enclosed bilge can lead to disaster. Can that happen on a scooter? Maybe.

MSR fuel bottles are one option especially if you're considering carrying in an enclosed space. Another option are the Kolpin fuel packs used by long distance scooter riders mounted on their front our rear racks.

You guys have me thinking twice about my idea. Maybe that tank isn't sturdy enough. Tough little tank, but the spout/trigger is the weak link.

It's only a matter of heat, and ventilation that I am thinking of. Perhaps an aluminum fuel cell?
