Title: Remove the passenger foot pedals ?
Post by: Chris0381 on May 11, 2014, 09:15:13 PM
Its a nice bike but with some flimsy cheap construction in some parts. The foot pedals keep popping open at the rub of a leg one the spring loaded pegs. Thinking about getting a torx bit and removing them or securing them with tie wraps..

Any input on this or other thoughts.

Same problem with my 150. A strong breeze will activate those stupid spring loaded pegs. If you don't carry a passenger, then they serve no real purpose. Thinking about removing mine as well. Might save a 1/4 pound of weight too, so  can have an extra Twinkie with lunch!  ;D

I took em off. Took all of 1 minute with an allen wrench. Don't plan on giving anyone rides or taking the responsibility or liability of a passenger at this time.

Now if I can only find a quality replacement for this plastic seat that seems like its going to melt in the hot Connecticut sun.

Who would want to put a passenger on a 49cc scooter that goes 35 MPH. If you've modded I can see; but unmodded, you'll just chug a long at such a low speed you would put yourself and the passenger in danger.
