How long can stock roller weights last before they wear out? My 2013 a50 has 1206km/749miles btw. Might as well also ask how long the springs last too? Never owned a scoot, have no idea. Doesnt mention those things in the owners manual so i was hoping just maybe they last over 7000miles because the maintenance chart ends at 11000km/7000mi:) I doubt it though. Also, why the hell does the maintenance chart end at 7000 miles? (my damn cvt sounds like its about to explode at 28mph, sounds funny?) :-[

Sliders will last 10 - 15 times as long, and work MUCH better. Look at, and follow the instruction to be SURE they are installed correctly.
Get a new contra spring too (2000)

If you are worried about the warranty have the dealer install the parts.

Idk? They wouldnt allow a performance cdi, said it void warranty so i thought maybe those other parts would too? Its all good though for now? Scoot brand new still.

Most people here change rollers before they wear out... or they change them regularly.... Rollers wear out when they have these flat spots on them... but they are still usable... so... I think nobody really knows the true life of these rollers...

I had to change my at 6,000 miles at that point they should of ben changed at 5,500 miles

Just so I know my scoot is all good I replace my whole drive train every 3 years sometims sooner.

Blue, so you change the whole drivetrain every 3 years hmm, nice! And zombie, belt every 3 months!!!?? That dont sound right? Also, would you recommend gates power belt? Err watever its called? Lol

Right now the engine is 100cc (50mm kit) so the belt wear is to be expected. All the replacement belts I've tried are also shorter than the OEM Bando, and drop a few MPH.
I like the MPH gain, and for 40 bucks it's worth it to me.

Blue, bado belts? ;) But yea guys thanks for all the info, greatly appreciated. Ill probaby check the belt around 4 or 5k and buy a bando for backup. Thanks again ;D

I tyed gates but I brake them to fast so I have been sticking with bando belts.

I see the stock roller weights go bad anywhere from 5000km-10000km depending on rider weight, and mostly how you drive the scooter. A lot of high RPM high speed driving will flat-spot the rollers faster than city driving. About your CVT maxing out at 28mph, ask your dealer about de-restriction. It sounds like they did not install the de-restricted boss hence making your variator max out at 30. On a happy A50 I the variator starts to hit high gear at about 35mph and top speed 38-40 indicated and im 200lbs. Make sure that if you Kymco dealer does install the de-restricted boss that they also up-jet the carb so the bike is not running lean at high rpms. One comment about the Agility City 16" we can't get these in the US because Kymco USA won't import them for some reason, if you are lucky enough to have a friend in Taiwan you could send them cash, pay to have it shipped ($$$$$$$) and if you get lucky enough your DMV will let you title it. I've been at a Kymco dealership for over 5 years and still to this day do not understand who is in charge of choosing what bikes get imported to the US. I sometimes browse the Kymco global site but it only makes me sad to see how many awesome scooters and small motorcycles we are missing out on here.

I tyed gates but I brake them to fast so I have been sticking with bando belts.

I've had good luck with Gates belts but my complaint is they are NEVER the same size as OEM.

Same here. I used them for quite awhile but they are shorter/slower.

Its funny for the people 50 service limit say 17mm and I've gotten gates belts NEW at like 17.2 lol.

BettinANDlosing: Great answer above, thanks. As for the 28mph max, my a50 max is actually about 34mph. Dealer did the jet upgrade and something in the cvt for like $45 extra. I was just saying my cvt sounds funny around 28mph, has a rattle, either that or its my center stand? Or both?

34 is pretty good all stock. Maybe they didn't install everything correctly. Did you hear the rattle from day 1, or after they de-restricted your scoot?

They de-restricted it on day one before i even rode it for the 1st time. I didnt notice the rattle until i was around 400km maybe. But when i hear the rattle, i push down on the center stand and it goes away about 75%.

The center stand has two quarter sized rubber bushings see it they are in good shape, sometimes they fall off.

Yeah, the rubber things are still there. Weird isnt it? Im almost sure both are making noises. Im going to check again tomorrow, i may even try to remove the entire center stand, then ride. That way ill maybe be able to tell for sure.

Are you sure a 6-7gr slider is good for a a50? Seen a 6g 16x13 dr pulley slider? Is 16x13 correct? Could i do just the slider upgrade and leave the spring alone?

16x13mm is the correct size of weight. I think around 7 is stock. you can do just weights, but weights along with stronger contra spring will make a HUGE difference. The contra spring is quite a bit more difficult to install than just the sliders tho so you may want to have a shop do that. The spring gets rid of that feeling when you go up a big hill, where you are cruising at say 25-30 and you give it gas and it doesn't "down shift". With a tighter spring the belt wants to stay in "low gear" for longer giving it better response when you gas it.

Have any idea what the stock spring is? Heard its an 850 spring. If so, wonder which is best, 1000, 1500, 2000 to upgrade to? Whats the difference? I read wordslinger likes a 1500, but i dont know if his a50 is modded? Another guy said he used a 2000 and he lost alot of top end speed, so he went back to stock. So idk lol!! Also, since im here, im a little confused as to why i have a 12v 4amp battery from dealer instead of a 6amp like the manual says i should have, thought that was strange? It has a GTX5L-BS in it btw. Im thinking the reason they did that was because its cheaper to install a 4amp for the dealer?? Either that or my manual has a typo?

I don't know what the stock spring is but if its all stock other than the weights get the 1500. Also the heavier the spring the heavier rollers or sliders you need. Light weights won't be able to "pull" the heavy spring. The a50 from kymco come with the ctx5 which is a 5amp battery. You can get the battery meant for Honda met ctx7 and its the same size but 7amp

BettinAndLosing: Forgot to mention on previous posts that the dealer did all the de restricting except the cdi. They said after the things they did to it, it should be capable to reach 40-42mph. But he made it seem like its a good idea to leave rev limiter in, that way you dont blow your engine up downhill or abuse it w high speed. What do ya think about that? :-\

What year is it? I found on our last batch on Agility 50s 2014 came with restricted intake manifolds. After doing the variator intake and main jet derestrictions bone stock brand new a50 did 40 pretty good on the speed o and I'm 220. I'm not too sure about the cdi on the a50.

Didn't read anything past Slinger... Get a 2000 or whatever the top 3-4 sellers have. Stiffer is better , trust me.

I haven't heard of upjetting when derestricting before. I had the dealer derestrict mine when I bought it 7 years aga and I'm pretty sure they didn't upjet for the measly $40 extra I paid to derestrict. So you think I could be doing damage by having stock jets in there? Plug looked rich if anything when I last replaced.

I'm sure they did. The bikes come from Taiwan with the boss and jet in a little bag under the seat. If they didn't that's a poor excuse for a Kymco dealer.
