Hi all
I have a kymco people 50 2007 and my engine has decided to blow up on me, would a kymco agility 50 2007 engine fit?
-
It should as long as the case is the same length for one thing you can compare the two engines for connections, might have to swap some things but should fit on the frame just check how it bolts in too
-
Is this the second post? Or am I having Deja vu?
-
have we met before?...
-
I'm not sure but your voice is familiar...
-
Deja Vu... :o
-
You can do it a short case will work to or any gy6 motor will work
-
Any other motor if not kymco you will need to swap stator
-
Yeah. We covered all that in the other thread. maybe??
-
It's pointless to swap an agility 50 engine into the People 50, the two stroke engine in the People 50 is WAY more powerful and if it just blew the top end and not the crank it's really not hard or expensive to re-build. You could even do a 70cc jug while your at it to boost torque and power. I can get you a people 50 top end rebuild kit if you need one PM me.
-
BUT the 4T will last, and the parts are way cheaper. Tough call tho.
-
If you use good quality 2t oil a well maintained people 50 will go 40,000km no prob
-
I DO agree BUT... 2t's are more expensive to run per mile, and like I said more expensive to maintain. It's a trade off that I am happy to get rid of.
No more 2t's for this boy.
-
It really depends on if you do your own servicing or not. 150cc oil change with valves needing to be adjusted about every 3-4k compared to fill the two stroke oil and change the spark plug? I don't see how a two stroke unless you build a race engine would cost more per mile, maybe to the environment but hey that doesn't matter too much... plus Agility 50 engine stock, SLOWWWWWW!!! Just my $.02
-
I use Platinum 32+ 2t oil at 16.00 a PINT. Thats 8 bucks a tank including fuel. That tank lasts about 15-20 miles.
Yep the 2t does 80MPH but the 4t is doing 60 so I can live w/ that. Plus I have no plastics so a whole engine swap takes less than 20 minutes.
Just sayin'
-
No doubt a nodded 2t has higher maintenance but stock vs stock 2t requires less upkeep.
-
You're wrong.
It costs more to run 2t. Stock or modded. Never seen a 2 stroke car have ya? Just add up the cost of oil alone.
2t
!00MPG
! gallon = 4oz oil (avg)
12 bucks a qt 2t oil (avg)
8 gallons per qt.
Avg. 3.50 a gallon = 36.00 + 12 (oil) 48.00 = 800 miles = 0.06 cents per mile
4t
100 MPG
fuel cost same 36.00
Motor oil 6.00 (avg)
Twice a year? Lets say 3000 miles = 2.50
36 + 2.50 = 38.50= 800 miles = 0.04 cents per mile
My modded QMB gets around 80 mpg
Modded SC10AS gets around 20-25
It's apples, and oranges son!

Help us out here! Kymcos have different model names in different countries, so many of us won't have a clue what a Kymco "Agility" is. Tell us if it's a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke, then we can help.
-
The '07 Agility is a 4t engine. Similar to the QMB 139
The People is a 2t engine similar to the S9.
The big issues are the wiring is totally different, and the engine mounts have to be re-designed.
Cost effective wise it's a winner because the 4t is cheaper in every way. Parts/cost to run. Personally I like the idea, and would do it only if YOU understand the wiring. It's all there you just need to rewire the head/tail lights, and add a new rectifier/CDI to match the 4t stator. or use the 2t stator/flywheel if they fit (I never tried that)
If you go for it I would also consider adding 3" to the engine mount length, and make a spacer for the rear shock of approx. 1 1/4"
This will greatly enhance the ride-ability for adult size riders.

12' rear tire 16' front would look and perform retarded. A people 150 swap mow that's where it would be at.
