I brought the SYM RV200 in for some routine maintenance and while I was sitting around chatting with the good people at the dealership they just happened to mention that they bought leftover stock from another dealer.
All 2013 leftovers.
like my mothers meatloaf I can't resist leftovers. I bought the RV as a leftover and settled for what I could find. Matte Rat Black. Not my fave. Others love it me not so much.
Anyway they know I've looked at the Downtown 300I many times over the last couple of years and had the chance to put a few hundred miles on one last year.
We go back into the shop and sitting there is a crate-fresh 2013 DT 300 in silver! They know I love silver.

Damn them!
They told me they wanted it gone yesterday and made an offer I couldn't refuse. I've bought many, many scoots from them and they knew I'd bite at the right price.
I bitched a little about it not being a step-thru but they countered with the "it fits you well" and it does. I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam and this bike does fit me well. It's also lite for a 300 and that's big with my weak legs. That said most would find this scooter cramped, its a small cockpit so to speak.
I kept telling myself I didn't need another scooter as I wrote the check.
So now one of my scooters is endangered. The Cali-Classic 125 or the RV200.
That's going to be a hard choice. The Cali is a cool around town bike and the RV is, well it's an "urban assault scoot". Its bad assed period ! Fast and comfortable. Low with a ton of floor. Only problem is I've been doing more freeway two-up and in the long term I'm afraid I'd kill it. I just would have a hard time parting with that one.
For now it a trio.

Just kidding. You will love the DT.
That silver and black looks sharp.
IMHO, the 300cc Kymco s are the way to go.
ps: What kind of seat pad is that?. How well does it work?.
I rode for about 6 1/2 hours the other day and my gerbles were hurting when I quit for the day.

You can take your seat to ANY upholstery shop like an auto seat guy or a marine canvas guy or even a couch guy. Explain what you want, and they can knock it out in an hour or two. Softer in front, and stiffer in back? No problem.
They just un staple the skin, modify the padding, and staple it back.
Look at my ZX in the for sale section here... That seat is lower, and softer than the original plus re-covered to match the paint. It cost 105.00 out the door from a local marine canvas shop. I had 2 beers, and 1/2 a sandwich. It was done.

She's a beauty! Best of luck with your new ride.

Its a ROHO Airhawk.

Roho is a master in seating. I started using their products on my wheelchairs years ago. Now whatever I sit on has a ROHO cushion on it.

The scoots fantastic ill post my impressions soon.
If my azz touches it there is a ROHO cushion on it !
Saves the lower back and no pressure sores.

If you don't love the DT300i, there is something wrong with you! You might grumble if you have a 34" inseam.....

Lol. That's the big appeal for me a mere "long haired leaping gnome"!
Most scoots in that class are to tall for my little legs.

Don't worry AMC. People w/ 34" legs are freaks. ;D
