Title: Kymco Exciting 650i
Post by: ramzi on April 03, 2014, 02:53:52 AM
There is a rumor that Kymco is about to come up with a new model maxi scooter that is 650 cc  to challenge the likes of BMW C 600 ?  Has anyone heard about this ?

I've heard this rumor ever since the release of the BMW scooters. I'm sure BMW attorneys will be watching closely if and when Kymco releases a competitive maxi.

It will be interesting since Kymco makes the power plant for the BMW.

The Kymco Myroad 700 (with 699cc) was already introduced 2 years ago. It has a different powertrain than the 650 (647cc) used by BMW. The engine for BMW has a higher compression (super fuel only) and higher rpm.
Kymco Xciting was "downgraded" to 400 (prev. 250+300+500cc versions). No need for a Xciting 650 parallel to Myroad 700.

That's what I was thinking. Why produce a 650 when Kymco already has a 700.
