Hey how's it going guys, well today I purchased my first ever scooter. Its a 2013 125cc Kymco Agility and it currently has 162 miles on it. This is my first scooter ever and I just wanted to ask is there any special way to break it in nicely? And tips and Tricks? Also every how often do change the oil..any feedback is welcome. Thanks!

I changed the oil the moment I got my scoot... I don't trust the oil in there... Break-in? just normal riding and no sudden accelerations and full speeds... As the engine gets old, the smoother it gets... How often I change oil? every 1,000 kms. Check all nuts, bolts and screws.. some might be loose

I agree with Vivo. Change your oil and diff fluid right away. My suggestion would be a full synthetic. I would also change the oils every 1000 miles. It's easy and doesn't cost a ton of money. As far as breaking it in, use it but don't abuse it. Drive it like you normally would.

Going off of "La Tortuga" spend a couple hours going through the archives of the Agility section of this forum, as well as the other sections. You will learn more than your brain can hold :)

At 163 miles it might be too late to do anything special.
It's tougher on a scooter to say keep below a certain RPM for 500 miles.
I like to accelerate then decelerate a lot during the first 100 miles.
Change the oil at 100 to 200 miles and use a straight 30w oil. This
helps the top end break in. Other than that just don't take it on a 500
mile drone at one speed for 400 - 500 miles.
Heat is needed and a problem during break in. The motor has to heat
cycle (warm up totally then cool down) but you have to avoid excessive heat.
So if the motor is tight don't rev it to redline slowly work your way up there ride by ride.
A good thing to do is to double your ride time each ride for the first 5 or 6. IE 10 minutes,
20 minutes, 40 minutes, 80 minutes. Longer rides help a lot to mate all surfaces inside
your engine!

Forget the break-in... get up at dawn...grab your camera... go to your favorite cafe for some breakfast outdoors... take some pictures of the sunrise.... ride and rest and take more pictures... just have some plain fun... ;)

Vivo, Meet me at the N/W corner of the Tim Horton parking lot (MidWest,USA) and I'll take you for a sunrise ride to meet my squirrel and deer friends. We'll swing by and T-Paper Virgil's house (the park manager & very nice guy - OK, forget the T-Paper) and check on the fishermen at the docks.
But first of course - I'll Super Glaze your helmet for you - to defeat the aliens tractor beam, and then we'll have a cup of Joe and watch the sun come up over the corn stubble.
We'll do some 30-40 miles and I'll have you home before the Mrs and young ones are out of their jammies!
Sunrise scooterin' is about the most fun you can have with your pants on, to quote Mark Twain.

Please do take advantage of all the scooter posts for your scoot -
Changing your engine oil and gear oil (fairly straightforward & simple if you take your time) is a great way to 'bond' with your scooter.
Putting good oil in your engine and transmission, and good gas in your tank will make you and your scooter feel better.
You'll like the way it responds to your good treatment!
Most of all, ride safe and enjoy the scooter (and shoot us some pictures when you get a chance)

After many days of sh**ty weather out here in Crystal Lake Illinois, I finally got the chance to take my scoot out for a proper spin! It's an awesome ride so far, very smooth! One thing i dont like about it is the round mirrors it comes with, any good place for aftermarket parts?

Oh so pretty! Welcome. I agree with Vivo gas her up and ride. Enjoy yourself and try to take pics. Always makes me feel I know ya better.
