I use to own a chinese 150cc scooter and then I went to a Suzuki Boulevard which I both sold, and now just yesterday I bought me a 2010 Kymco Xciting 250cc with 1,003 miles on it for $2150.. from a guy on craigslist....do you guy's think that was a good or bad deal?
Realistically if I take care of it... how many miles can I get out of her? Im so excited that I own her now. Cant wait to get the registering done!
Thank you guys f

Sounds like a great deal. Take care of it, ride it as often as you can and it should last a good, long time. Kymco is known to be "bulletproof" . :D

Yeah im going to drive it as long as I can... I have to get it inspected and register it first. whats the top speed on these 250's? Could I get it up to 70MPH at least?

You are in the right place! Since Kymco made engine units for Honda and are now making them for BMW I do not think you have to worry about wearing out your 250. Ride it and have safe, sensible fun for a long time.

Yeah I owned a Boulevard cruiser before the Xciting. I've always heard good things about kymco... the only thing I havent seen is a 250cc xciting with alot of miles on it. But im optimistic :)

Depending on your weight, 70s is attainable.

Welcome to the forums. I'm a new owner of a Super8 150 (March 7, 2014) and to the forums also. These's a lot of good info here. Just grab a shovel and start digging.

Congrats on your buy. Kymco is a good brand. They are the official scooter sponsor of the NHRA drag racing series. This tells you how good their bikes are. Legendary drag racing driver John Force and his daughters ride them around the track. I met Mr. Force last year here in Vegas at the race track and I know he rides his Kymco Super 8 150. He absolutely loves his bike. There was a blog last year by this guy who broadcasts for the AMA motorcycle races. Kymco offered him the opportunity to ride their 500cc excite bike from their corporate headquarters in Spartenburg, SC to the last races of the season in Pomona, CA and back to his hometown of Daytona Beach FLA. He said in his blog it was the best scooter he ever rode in life. This is coming from a guy who rode motorcycles for 25 plus years of his life. This proves how kymco cares about quality over quantity. Enjoy your new bike and many riding adventures. 8)
