Title: Starting problems
Post by: brandonbosch on March 15, 2014, 05:22:58 AM
Hey guys. So lately my downtown has been difficult to start. It shudders and requires throttle feathering to run. Almost like it's horribly flooded. I do drive a lot of highway miles. Do you think it's a fuel delivery issue?  It's dang near new so I'm kinda bummed

I am curious, what has the weather been like the past several days, before this issue started?

What year is your DT? What is your mileage? Where do you buy your gas?

Branden, try the initialize before anything: Run/stop switch in Run; key off; throttle open wide; key on and wait 8 seconds; throttle closed; key off. This synchronizes Throttle Position Sensor and Idle Speed Control (valve). See if that solves the problem. This will fix a crummy idle as well. And the side stand must be up. Forgot that. Sorry.

The weather has been chilly in the am and decent in the afternoon. So like 30's and 60's respectivly, it's a 2013. I use only shell V Power but it does have ethanol in it. I use startron fuel stabilizer to reduced ethanol effects.   I will try the initialize procedure when I get home. On vacation!
