Title: Another newbie
Post by: Thursty on March 12, 2014, 10:47:07 AM
G'day everyone.

I've recently replaced my little Honda Today 50 with a bright red Like 200i and all I can say is "Why did it take me so long".

I've had the Like for just over 2 weeks and have already put over 1500km on the clock. For such a small scooter, it has the power I need for the motorways and zips in and out of stop/start traffic.

My daily commute of 90km on motorways and stop/start traffic can only be summed up in one word - FUN.

Please be gentle with me (at least for the first few days)

Hi Thursty!

Congrats on your recent purchase!!  I too have just purchased a shiny new red Like 200i!!  I start my Motorcycle Safety class tomorrow evening, so I haven't been able to do any street riding.  I have, however, been spending a decent amount of time in the church parking lot behind our house. ;D  I am so excited about it, that I just ordered a 2014 black one for my husband.  It didn't take too much convincing after he took a few laps on mine!  There are so many scenic byways here in Colorado that I think should be enjoyed on 2 wheels.

Btw, I take it you are "down under".  Please post photos of some of your scooter adventures.  Enjoy, and be safe!

Hello Thursty and welcome to the forum. As you can see from my signature I have a 2012 Like 200i LX. I have 3500 miles so far and all has been well with it. I have done most of the upkeep and it is easy and fun. Enjoy your new ride! ;)

Well, not to put too fine a point on it.....ummm, but you look like a duck!
(Must be the lighting - you know, as very few people can pass as a DUCK even here in Ohio.)
Anyway, ride safe and welcome to the flock!
(in "4 Weddings and a Funeral" there was a girl they called 'Duck Face'....but you.....you look like the whole darned thing! Amazing.)
Still, a nice looking duck. No worries - we have all kinds here (even Republicans, I think...)

Hey Thursty welcome to the addiction. And yes it is really an addiction. I hope you love your new Like and have many safe and fun miles on it. And it's ok if you look like a duck. We except all kinds of scoot people here.
Republicans on scooters? I would pay to see that.

      Ride safe everyone, mscmkr

Congratulations on your purchase of a Like. You're going to enjoy it. I'm thoroughly enjoying mine and feel you get a lot of bang for the buck. Post a picture when you can.

Profile is one of my friends who decided to invite himself into my tent when I was touring around Tasmainia a few months ago.. it brings such great memories of 2 wonderful weeks I spend on my Big Bike.
I hope to catch up with one of the people I met on the trip in a few months. She's currently riding around Australia on a "postie bike" and knows the Duck really well.

Hi Wanda,
We must be neighbours as you're only a short trip down the motorway.
As requested, here's the Like catching some surf in Redcliffe.
