Is anybody else out there tired of this Eskimo weather that we are getting????????
I got my new Xciting 500 a few weeks ago and have only ridden 40 miles since then for fear of ice, snow and freezing to death!
It's 14 degrees now with a 5 degree wind chill factor in SW Missouri right now. it's supposed to be 2 degrees low tonight and if there's wind at all it will drop WAY below zero!
I was born and raised in Southern California and rode all year long!!
Stay warm.

It has been cold and snowy here. On top of that I have had a bad cold the last two weeks.
Got cabin fever real bad.
Looking forward to a warm, sunny ride.
ps: We are anxious to hear your review of the 500.
-
I'm tired of it because it started about 5-6 weeks earlier than normal..
I'm actually looking forward to complaining about the heat in July. :)
-
If we could put together a melt I'd be riding in a heartbeat. This winter we've gotten over 40" of snow and it's early Feb. normally we get 25" the entire year.
-
cabin fever sucks. Im thinking of a 2 stroke for my next scoot maybe a cobra.
-
Yep right now in central Texas its 22 degrees an windchill is suppose to be 8 degrees. Come on this is Texas not Alaska. We have been getting all 4 season every 3 days this is insane.
-
It's 5 degrees with a -6 wind chill factor and possibly flurries today!!!!!!!
Thank GOD for the internet or I'd go nuts:)

I live in central New York (Syracuse), and we've had a lot of cold and snow also. I don't enjoy it, but can live with it. I have all wheel drive on my vehicles, a good snowblower, and the highway departments in central New York are very prepared to deal with the weather. Staying in for several months of cold weather is a pain in the a#^. Then I consider the tornados, earthquakes, wildfires and floods in other parts of the country, and it doesn't seem so bad. I guess the bottom line is that we can't change the weather, so short of moving, we have to deal with it.

I don't mind the cold or the snow on the roadside....just give me a little bit of clear roads!

Sunshine is great ....but not absolutely necessary! Cold is fine....but clear roads are necessary.(http://i57.tinypic.com/qodtmb.jpg)
There have been days of clear roads - but had to work and snow was predicted for quitting time. So, no scooter.
Tried it twice and got caught in snow storm on the way home X 2- almost got nailed by a stupid F-150 because I was zeroed in too much on the road & snow. Lesson learned. I don't ride in traffic in the snow. One or the other - but not both.
Some day the world will look like this again.

Got a bad cold and didn't smoke for 3 days. Figured it was a good time to try. I actually carried a pack around with me for about a week before I just threw them in the trash.

It usually doesn't get that cold in Alabama but this has been a tough winter. I still manage to ride fairly regularly. However, I did go for a few days without riding and was starting to suffer from PMS and SIDS.
What's that?

Klaviator, Thanks for the morning laugh and for those great pictures.
I am suffering here also. I bought a new Xciting 500RI ABS going on 3 weeks ago and have only been able to put 40 miles on it. The Wing and the NT haven't moved either.

If our roads here looked like that, I would bundle up and ride a little myself. Unfortunately our roads here (Syracuse, NY) are all white from road salt. I won't ride until we get a good rain storm to wash them off. Hurry up spring!
-
Klaviator, that's too funny. I hope I don't get either, they both sound like terrible afflictions and I may just have to start up a ride down here in Australia to help support the cause.
I'll let you know how it goes.
Cheers :)

We have had unusually cold weather here but very little snow. We did get a break from the cold so I went for a ride to check out a waterfalls a few hours away.
It was partially frozen.

We've been having wonderful weather lately. Last week it was a little cold (for us) with highs only in the 60's, but this weekend it was absolutely wonderful with temps in the low 70's, and this coming weekend it is forecasted to be in the mid 80's. Put on about a hundred mile on Saturday, and another 100 today.

..dang, I Love That Scoot, alphaB...
...this is the first image I ever saw of one..
..they weren't available in the states then...
-
I just filled the woodstove for the night.. I got home from my indoor silhouette shooting shooting league and the thermometer was bouncing between 0 and 1F for the last mile.
I can't wait to complain about heat again.. :)
-
and the thermometer was bouncing between 0 and 1F for the last mile.
...dang.....screw that!!...enough of that!!!

Agreed..
But last week I was just north of Gulfport, MS and I got snowed on.. The locals blamed me for the weather. :)
And Wednesday I'm flying down to Savannah, GA and I see it's supposed to be 34F that night.. I'm sure it's my fault. :)
-
..ummm..
Wednesday night in savannah is apt to be messy...
..we have a winter storm forecast in the southeast this week...
-
I'd heard.
I drive in snow and ice everyday, but it's those who don't that scare me..
All I have to do is make it to the hotel and the paper mill.. I've been to both several times. Later in the week I'll get some good coastal food and be jealous of the folks I see around me on 2 wheels.
Someday that 3' of white crap will melt in my yard and I can get bikes out again. :)
-
..well, at least you're getting out of the ccoolldd, occasionally...
..my friend Carol lives in Minnesota, she's been homebound pretty much all winter, I think...
-
The further north you go, they better they are with snow.
I was in Becker, MN a couple weeks ago and we got about 4-5" of snow in the morning. By 11am the roads looked like it hadn't snowed. They're professionals with snow removal.. 8)
-
..yeah, 2.5" of snow shut Atlanta down a cpl weeks ago...
..the governor of Ga. has already declared a State Of Emergency for 17 counties for th' next cpl of days...
-
Well, I won't hold my breath that my flight to ATL will be on time Wed, around noon.. ;)
Did I mention that I get paid to travel, by the hour.. ;D
I'll look into a rental car and driving down. I've got to work in Savannah til Tuesday, and then Macon on Wednesday. Driving would open up the opportunity to stop in Anniston, AL for a little shopping. :)
