Title: Tire pressure
Post by: Momma bear on February 05, 2014, 01:24:42 AM
What is the correct tire pressure. The Manuel says 24.85 front 28.54 for back . I asked the dealer and he said 26 in both. Wasn't my usual guy. I'm sorry I have a pretty decent tire gauge and it won't read to the hundredth percent. Who writes this stuff? So is 25 up front and 28.5 in back good? Or should I go to 29?

I just round it off. I run 26 and 30 in my tires. A pound or two isn't a huge difference.

This confuses me as well. The dataplate with the vin number shows the tire pressure should be front 29 psi; rear 32 psi.  (it is mounted down near the kickstand)  Definately conflicts with the manual.

I started out with the higer 29/32 pressure, but later have been running them at 25/30 which I like better as it seems to handle a little better in the corners, and a perceptible smoother ride.

Speaking of manuals from Honda in the 60s, it took them a bunch of years to make their manuals make sense and match their machines......
