Title: Adjusting valves.
Post by: Porkie on January 22, 2014, 01:22:04 PM: How difficult is the valve adjustment procedure on the 2013 Xciting 500 I ABS? Is it 'screw and locknut' or shim over/ under bucket. When is the first inspection/ adjustment called for?

I am in the process of buying The Xciting 500, with 3,300 miles but I'm not sure at this point about what maintenance need to be done.

Post by: speedee86 on February 14, 2014, 04:00:54 PM: i have a 2012 xc500. valve adjustment check is called for at 16,000 miles. i would imagine it is the same. i think the only thing that changed form 2012-2013 in the body style a bit. engine is the same i believe. :)

that one i am not sure in. there might even be and access port for it like there is for the spark plug. i bought mine with an extended warranty so i take it to a shop nearby or the dealer so that if anything breaks, i have all the service records. let us know though as we all are im sure interested on how it all comes apart :)
