Title: Exhaust Upgrade
Post by: demeter on January 19, 2014, 06:56:02 AM
Hello All,

I'm planing to upgrade my exhaust and noticed there is an extra rubber tube connected to the stock exhaust. It connects to a little box that's mounted to the bottom of the frame/body. Some sort of pollution control device?

What am I supposed to do with that? I'm planning on upgrading to a Tecnigas Next R.

Thanks

Further reading says its a secondary air filter and can safely be removed. :)

Remove it when you install the new exhaust (this portion of the bike wont be needed). If you remove it and keep the stock exhaust on it may cause an "exhaust leak type situation" where additional, unaccounted for air gets into the cylinder and runs the bike lean.
