Ok production starts 1st quarter of 2015. This might be something to consider for those days too cold or icy to ride the scoot.

I would wish this company all the success in the world. You might recall Carbon Motors in Connersville, IN. They designed the Police Car to replace all Police Cars. This was a huge start-up, went quite a way before lack of funding shuttered the project. Your hi-mileage car would have been rebuilt instead of replaced. $6,800 is very cheap, but if you're betting on super high production, this looks like the best value ever. Personally...I've been interested in this design. Corbin had a similar model some years back. (Corbin not Carbon)....

At least the ScootCoupe (http://www.scootcoupe.com/products.html) offers side-by-side seating, and somewhat of a trunk (http://test.susiesmopeds.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/susiescootcoupe2-300x223.jpg).

Not good to compare the Scootcoupe to the Elio or similar vehicle. We rented a 50cc Scootcoupe a couple of years ago at the Outer Banks for an hour. Fun, but only 50cc's, really hard cornering. 2 seats side by side takes up too much width on the road. You need power to keep up with the traffic. If you check the Scootcoupe or equivalent, it wasn't cheap. You know, these three wheel designs which I have fancied, For so many years, go back to Post WW11 with the Messerschmidt. So far, this design has always been a flash in the pan regardless of the price of gas or economy. Again...This is a super looking and well appointed vehicle. However...I would caution putting any money down for one until the end of 2015. What do I know? I spent many years as an automotive, equipment and med. device engineer.

I doubt this will ever come to market despite claims, the big car companies IMO would buy them out or crush them.
I notice they say we anticipate a 5 star impact on future testing. I can't imagine this plus it's still a motor cycle not a car and won't be subject to testing of that sort that I'm aware of.
Doesn't mean I won't buy one if it came out just that I doubt it will. Back in the late 70's there was a "car" called the lean machine, it had a 15 hp enging and got a reported 80+ MPG, GM bought them out and nothing was ever heard of it again.

Very cool. Much nicer looking than the Smart. I hope they do well. I don't see a price.
