Title: New to the Super 8 scene! bike rocks , when it runs right!
Post by: jethro on December 12, 2013, 12:43:01 AM
Hey guys    Just got a super 8 last week.   Bike seems to be in pretty good shape.    Airsal topend (brand new)   TK pipe,  aftermarket var, kev belt,   good clutch etc.    Rockets to 45mph   Other then a wierd vibration at cruising speed seems good overall.

Problem im having is random fuel delivery issues.    Namely right after i fill up the tank!   I ride about a block and the bike dies...   Every time!       I think it has something to do with the vacuum fuel pump @ tank?

Anyone have this issue?

yeah makes perfect sense.     i wonder if the fuel cap can be serviced?

Other then this this issue and the weird cavitation/vibration at speed this bike is a beast!

What kind of vibration? Try inspecting your motor mounts..

It might be belt flutter or something.  Only happens at 35+   Very slow vibration.   gonna try and see if wheels are bent this morning.

Well the bike is a serious screamer.    Have not worked out the problem but all signs point to a weak vacuum fuel pump.    I order a mikuni one.   We shall see!

The vibration seems to be lessoning it may just be the new piston/rings breaking in.

On a side not these bikes ride AMAZing.   I've rode enough scoots to say this bike hands down has the best handling of any ive owned before it.
