Hey! So this will be the first time i change the fluids myself on my new downtown. Where is ye drainplug? I didnt see that little gem shown in my owners manual. Also i assume that the little black cylinder housing under the dipstick is where the filter resides? Any help or tips would really be appreciated. Thanks!

The engine oil drain is the 17 mm bolt head on the left side of the engine case as rearward as you can get and still be engine case. The BLACK 17 mm "bolt head" just forward of the oil drain is the strainer screen made of plastic/composite. The filter is on the right side of the engine case, rearward and takes a 15/16" socket or the mm equivalent. Get your wrenches and get busy. Call me in the morning!

In regard to the black bolt forward of the drain plug, Is that screen something i would remove and clean out every oil change?

Remove and clean for the first couple of changes to see what you find. Stretch it out to every three changes if you find little to nothing. Use your judgement after you are confident there will be no trash in the screen. Change the filter EVERY oil change.
