Sitting at a stop light today, thinking.....haven't seen another scoot in a few weeks....wonder how many miles a normal scooter is capable of. (yeah, that guy has 60K on his SYM and counting) but normal scoots.
For instance my LIKE 200i. I have 3627 on it and hoping it will see maybe 20,000 before anything big falls off or breaks.

How many miles on your LIKE 200i ? (if it's a LIKE 50cc please so state)

(actually, I remember when I seemed stuck in the 200's - riding circles in the church parking lot, and when I got real adventurous I'd go over to the school parking lot!)

High here Tuesday will be 35, snow flurries.
If it looks OK, will give it a try.
First winter/scooting....I guess I'll have to learn the hard way about getting to work and THEN watching it start to snow big-time!

(dolemite - was that not the name of a British 4-dr saloon famous for sporting purposes back in the 60's/70's ?)

On they website it was the recommended size/weight for the Like 200. 18x14 13.5G. I had 2 rollers that had flat spots. The belt was in surprisingly good condition, compared to a new one I just got, so I left it on for now. There was a considerable amount of belt dust in the cvt though, which has since been cleaned out. With the sliders installed, I'm getting the same top end speed right around 60, but the take off and mid range power is AMAZING. It's incredibly smooth and powerful. One thing I didn't expect is when cruising and letting go of the throttle, it seems to "coast" like it's in neutral rather than immediately engine brake. So that's kinda cool. It still engine brakes but at speed, over 30 it's considerably less. It's a huge difference even from when the scooter was new and broken in. So with almost 10k on my Like my brake pads are still not even 1/2 worn. So far so good for the Like, no major issues to report.

I bought mine early Oct. Its almost mid Nov. I have almost 1,100 miles. The changes in performance and mpg were very noticable when it was broken in.

I drove my LIKE per the break in procedures from the owner's manual - therefore - the increase in performance came ONLY when I decided it was now broken in properly and I would like to get the heck out of the middle of this big, turning, up-hill, 8 lane intersection! I gave it the beans and it responded well! Before that, I drove the engine only gently.}

Hehe...Well I've been riding mine like I stole it since day one. It's always preformed well with plenty of power until 60... then it's over. :). (only 500 miles). Wish someone could say top end would be 65 after 800 miles...

Sorry I can't offer a lot of hard numbers here. I performed the second service at roughly 650 miles. This is my third scooter I've broken in and I follow the manufacturer's instructions. After the second service i started giving it the beans more. But a bit after 700 i started doing runs on the highway and finally opend it up all the way. After my second highway run i noticed the scoot idled smother and I needed less throttle to maintain speed in city. I noticed I would have a bit more gas in my tank after going to and from work a couple of time. Normally just riding to and from work twice would leave the gas gauge just at the beginning of the red area. Now I often find myself a notch or two before the red area. I haven't tracked my mpg so I can't tell ya the actual change.
