i got a flat in my rear tire a couple weeks back. i was just wondering what brand/size tires anyone has put on their people 50.
i was running with cheng shin 80/80-16(F) and 100/80-16(R)
ended up ordering pirelli ML 75's for the front and rear after spending almost an hour in the shop trying to find a matching set. :P

I am curious about this as well as i have a People 150 but it takes the same size tires. I have the stockers on there now but need to get something else and i am having a hard time finding anything other than the Cheng Shin's. I found a Pirelli but cannot get them in a matching set.

I am looking too. What pirelli tire did you find? We would have lots of options for tires if we were positive that a larger size would fit with out rubbing the fork in front and the spring in rear. For example there are plenty of GOOD (pirelli sport demon, diablo) tires in sizes like Front= 100/80-16 and Rear= 130/80-16, But I am afraid they might rub. Has anyone tried this? I know the front would fit, but the rear might touch the spring or get pinched in it. Is this possible?
Plus a bigger tire would lose some acceleration and gain some top speed.

...AVON....

I'm thinking of leaning more towards trying out the Pirelli's. I've got to orders some this week, my casing is showing!
-
...dang dude....be safe!!!
-
Will do! It's only 1.5 miles to work, so hopefully it will last a week or so! It's definitely sketchy though, just wore through yesterday!

...i hadda flat on my rear tire a cpl weeks ago...on the way to work...it was raining...I thot my cvt had crapped out....
..luckily I was in th city...trudged to 3 service stations before I found a plug kit....got me one in mt MET-IN now tho..lol..
-
...just what the crap isa MET-IN anyway...we ever figure that out??
-
Bike Bandit was the best price I could find, and I got my tire in 3 days. JC Witney has a price match policy , and their shipping is just as good.
-
...Love my AVON Viper Stryke front...fixin to have me one on the rear...
-
I just realized JC Witney may be a good source for the first three posters. They had tires for my '78 NC/50 that I could not find anywhere else in the U.S.
-
..i couldn't find a Pirelli set that fit my A50....ain't tried JC tho...
-
I don't know what brand of tire they are using , but the new Honda sh150i has very similar size tires to the people series .
-
The best thing is just to try a size, and see. All the top shops will exchange if they do not fit. Then you could be the goto guy for tire size on your scoot!
-
did any of you buy a tire? what size and from where? i need one bad! i been spinnin and sliding. its bald as baby butt.

on the size 100or 120?
-
Whatever the stock size is, you should be able to go up one size without rubbing. If you don't want to have to mess with potential rubbing issues stick with the stock size.
-
There is another thread for the people 50. The 120 fit like a charm.
-
thanks! im wanting to go up a size. it may help on top end. and look beefier ;D
