Title: How /where to dispose of old oil?
Post by: zevsdad on October 25, 2013, 05:43:38 PM
I like to consider myself to be somewhat environmentally aware---so what should I do with my old oil after an oil change?

The auto parts stores have a company that comes by and buys it for recycling.
In Arkansas, any store that sells oil retail, must accept waste oil for recycling.

Recycle and re-refining... Used oil as is can be used as fuels for heaters, boilers, etc.  or it can be re-refined... remove dirt, impurities, water, etc... add new additives and sell to the public as new oil again...

Here in Ohio we sell it to the guys in the County Fairs....
You know that great smell you enjoy as you approach the trailer selling Elephant Ears and Fried Pickles and Fried Snickers ..?!
Waste not - want not.
They give me top $ for my Amsoil!
