Just in case you hadn't heard:

'With the core drive train and additional chassis elements provided by strategic vehicle partner, Kymco, the development, styling and final product engineering approach has been conducted exclusively by the design and engineering team at Kawasaki’s factory in Akashi, Japan and Kawasaki’s European R&D Department.

i want this seat lol
-
They don't mention when or if it will be available in the US. The first thing I thought of is the Costco motorcycle buying program.
-
well i have looked at the seat from different angle it's much different than the usa seat .so i want it lol
-
Nice... Still looks like a Kymco tho... ;)
-
few minor design changes the seat is different
-
It looks like the seat is higher in front and the saddle back is back further,. better for us tall people,.
-
i see the same thing there de
-
yup def different

I dunno, it looks the same to me, but I would suppose if it is different you will soon be able to buy one from Kawasaki and swap, and Kymco could actually consider selling it as an aftermarket option for the Downtown.

I'd imagine in the same price range, give or take, and I also imagine it won't make it to North America anytime soon, if at all, unless it really takes off. This is Kawasaki's foot in the door to bolster the lower end market that it doesn't serve with the Ninja 300.
Wouldn't be surprised if they rebadged other Kymco scoots in Europe, just like Sym does with Peugeot. It's good for both parties, the "big label" gets a price-competitive entry, the "little label" gets much more market access and builds word of mouth about quality ("That Kawi J300 is really a Kymco Downtown, and that Peugeot Tweet is really a Sym Symphony", for instance).

I think we have a real sweet scooter ,now if they would build the seat for tall people, so we do not have to fool around with the damn thing, Im over 600.00 just fitting my seat so far, just about finished thank god,.

de-dee
Stepping in here for a moment...........
You have spent $600 USD on your Kymco seat rebuild?
I thought I was goofy spending as much $, time & effort on the seat of my LIKE! ($2700 MSRP this past April)
But, I am much happier riding around now on my funny looking but comfy & supportive seat!

Yup, just like Bajaj of India manufactures the Kawasaki Ninja 250R, and the KTM Duke 200... that's good image for Bajaj... and boosted the sales of Bajaj/Kawasaki here in our country....
-
Yeah, speaking of Bajaj and Dukes, I'm sore tempted to pick up a Duke 390 in the next month or so. And having a heated internal debate about trading in my Agility 200i or keeping it if I do get the 390.
-
I am just glad to see more maxi-scooters in the market. I've been arguing that the future of motorcycling (at least here in the USA) is automatic transmissions and scooters in general.
;D Nice to see I may be right.
-
In our country, only 400cc-up are allowed on freeways... I'm hoping for an xciting 400 to reach our shores... Sym has just released their Maxsym 400i... might be my next scoot if Kymco doesnt listen...
318,000 pesos or around $7,500.00

Always wanted to get back to the Philippines. Last time I was there, Marcos was still in power.

He's dead, but still not buried... since the late 90's... the Marcos family wants him to be buried in the hero's cemetery but the present government refuses...

I was in the USMC and was there for a extended field operations in 1986 during the elections if I remember correct, I drank too too much bull frog and mojo so I might be a little off

I was also there with the Corps, a year earlier. I pretty much stuck to San Miguel and Red Horse, in mass quantities. :)
