I will need to replace the 4-year-old tires on my 2009 Venox 250 soon, and I am hoping to install a wider rear tire. It looks like I could go to a 170/80 with the room I see in the swingarm. I realize a larger tire means more rotational mass, which hurts low-end acceleration some, but will also give me just a little more top-end due to the slightly larger circumference.
Anybody gone bigger than the stock 150/80 size?

Mike, it will also increase your breaking distance... but it will look really cool... ;)

brakes are really good on this bike; not too worried about a slight decrease in stopping performance. The "looking cool" factor is a big part of why I want the wider tire--the Victory Judge also has a rather slim 150 tire as well. Back in the 1980s, a 150 was huge.
