Title: 25K today or Midlife Crisis?
Post by: Scootaloot on September 12, 2013, 02:33:56 AM
Crossed the Quarter Century mark today! Pioneer? Still very happy with scoot but last transaxle lube change didn't look quite right and threads on fill bolt contained aluminum case with them. Thinking it stripped on prior change and did some mingling with parts inside. Going to change lube early and hope for best. Haven't had any discernible changes in action. To this point the only things to act up are exhaust shield bolts loosening. That's it! My BV 250 at this stage had a broken exhaust stud, water pump, cooling issues and oil sump damage from the belt. Another belt and tires will be needed in about 3K. Running 15g sliders and may try 14g's next time. Hoping for another carefree 25K :)

Good to read on the reliability of your machine, and hopefully it is indicative of it's future and all GTis!  How many miles are you averaging on tires?

AlphaBetaDog, Changed Maxis at about 14K to City Grips and anticipate new doughnuts will be needed at about 28-30k. I like the wet traction on the Cities and depending on cost will most likely stick with them again. Belt is good for about 14k as well.
