Hey All,
Just got back from a 30 mile jaunt on some back roads. I spotted a garage sale and had to stop. Found a dog gate that I needed but wasn't sure how to get the thing home. I asked the home owner if he had some rope or a bungee he'd be willing to sell me. He did. I leaned the gate against the trunk and anchored it to the seat. Road home no problem. At home I put three different size bungees under the seat compartment.
Small first aid kit, cell phone charger cord, glass wipes, bungees, tool kit. I'm I forgetting anything?

You probably already have this stuff in your tool kit:
(what do you have that I'm forgetting to carry with me !?)
I take:
10mm socket - the seat bucket bolts
5/8ths spark plug socket
ratchet extension w/ one of those 'joints'
ratchet
little packet of xtra body panel screws
17mm socket - oil plugs
12mm socket - gear oil plugs
reg & bull nose phillips screw driver - plastic panel screws
blade screw driver - pry the battery cover off
set of allen wrenches (my Italian mirrors)
tire pressure gauge
visor wax for rain
inside visor wipe for breath fog
rain pants
rain jacket
bungees
blue painter's tape (headlight glare at night and cheap visor sun-shade when sun gets low AM/PM )
Mini LED flashlight for repairs (which you won't need) and refueling (to see that bar down there - I freq gas up when station closed w/debit card)
pen & paper to keep track of mileage
feeler gauge (valve lash)
needle nose pliers (who knows - but if you don't then you WILL need)
a bit of wire (see above)
channel locks (see above/above)
adjustable wrench (same)
Pliers (ditto)
shop rags
zip ties
box matches (if pass is snowed in )
Owner's Manual (Kymco says to keep it with the scooter. ?)
1/2 Qt engine oil (never need it if you do break-in per the manual)
that stock NGK plug you took out (replaced w/Iridium plug)
Optional Items:
Camera for pix of your neat scooter at neat places for posting here!
All this goes under the seat - top box is for your groceries and your work lunch and/or morning Tim Horton's and helmet and gloves and Scooter book from the library. If you're going for groceries leave scooter book at home)
Front hook is for the pastries and eggs, IMHO.
I wrap tools in the shop rags to cut down on the racket you'll make going over R R Xing's
I keep flashlight and pen/paper, blue tape, tire gauge, visor wax on top of the pile under the seat. That's all I ever use.

Good point if you're away from quick help for a flat.
Who makes a good kit - would hate to mess up a good Michelin with a $3 Walmart plug kit.

The slime kits have a good rep with even ironbutt association riders. If those guys endorse 'em they must be worth a close look.

Thanks much for your feedback - completely forgot about a flat - even with these new Michelins it might be a possibility. Also need to find a better digital air gauge - the dumb one I have is nearly impossible to fit down there!
I ordered a nice looking tire repair kit with CO2 bottles, etc. from eBay last eve.
You know, soon I should take those tools out from under the seat - I could put them in a kit in my garage and phone my wife or son to bring it to me if needed....
It's not like I'm going to be doing an oil change or valve adjustment on the side of the road!

No offense but I wouldn't risk my life riding on a plugged tire.
Not even if the choice was between "sit out here in the boonies with no cellphone coverage hoping somebody comes by and answers my stuck out thumb" and "plug the tire and get to some place I can replace it"?

I rode 2 plugs in the rear for almost a year before replacing the tires...

Was that two flats on separate occasions or one flat requiring two plugs? Regardless, doesn't it makes you wonder about how you've been living... ;)
And just to help me wrap my mind around this, Vivo, would you have ridden on a plugged front?

I had a friend with 2 plugs in the front tire of his Hayabusa motorcycle for over a year and a half. The guy would go over 130mph on the thing all the time between Charlotte NC and Columbia SC with no problems..
I sure as hell wouldn't do that but it held up.

repairing radial tires or any punctures in the sidewall, or using liquid
sealants. Speeds should not exceed 50 mph for the first 24 hours after
the repair and the repaired tire should never be used over 80 mph. Motorcycle tires experience tremendous sideways forces and deformation
when cornering, which can cause patches to flex and fail."
I have been riding since I was 16, my mc was my daily rider in San Diego for three years, have taken extended trips into Mexico, once took a June July August cross country trip, and have not had so much as a slow leak from a tire. That said an emergency plug/co2 kit may have been prudent. :)

Actually, my therapist has been working with me and I'm thinking of leaving some tools behind....maybe will start with the scrap wire and one of the rolls of blue tape.
I will start carrying the tire patch kit tomorrow. Since I never go over 40mph and reg. ride at 28>38mph I probably could ride around safely with 1/2 doz. tire plugs sticking out of my tires - though the
' thrumming' might be a distraction. (like these guys around here with the giant mudder tires on their raised pick ups. I'm sure they end up wishing the heck they'd never put those on.... )

Took weird sized tires she discovered....only sold in a small shop in Italy.
Lots of room for Twinkies in the back, assorted wire scraps, tape, and metric sockets in the half size - bet you don't have some of those under your seat!?
What do you do with half-sized metric sockets(*)? You can hammer them onto the next size nut or bolt! They'll still be there the next time, too.
* some layman scooter DIY'ers refer to them as "Standard" sized sockets. Boobs.
FYI :My LIKE BUDDIES are meeting tonight to see how many Frequent Flyer Miles we have for a big meet at my Tim Horton's next week. I'm buying. We talk roller weights, eat some pork and then maybe play a little chess. Helluvagoodtime.

I have a set that has 5.5, 8.5, 9.5 and 10.5 metric sockets. I am prepared. :P

Vivo, Since my knee surgery I find I only need the toilet paper every 48 hrs (it's a long story) - but I do have all the other stuff - except here in Ohio we replace the Twinkies with Moon Pies....kinda of a local delicacy in the Brown Food Group of vegetables.
