Title: Adjusting the Valves
Post by: loganhes on September 03, 2013, 05:44:12 PM
Hello All,

Over the weekend I decided to check the valve clearance on my scoot. It turns out that they needed to be adjusted so I readjusted them to the suggested .004". I put everything back together and started her up and now the valves are tapping slightly. My question is, is this alright that they are tapping or should I take everything apart and tighten up the clearance even more? or will this tapping go away after riding the scoot for a bit? Is it hurting anything when it is making a tapping noise? Any suggestions are appreciated.

A little tapping is better...just a little.... no tapping at all might be too tight and will lead to damage...
