No new parts yet. I definitely have the flu on its way out. Just responding to drilling the hole. The OEM exhaust had an attachment point just below the fan cover. No need to drill a new one as the ZX-R had a corresponding attachment point. It was nearly an exact match for the original. I just had to make a minor adjustment to the triangle bracket to get it to meet the bolt hole.

I'm not sure the part number at the moment. Maybe a picture will help?

Thank you very much for taking the time, but alas, no, the pic didn't help. What type(s) of gasketry did you use to install it?
Here's why all the questions: With a crush ring gasket only and with the flanges meeting well at the engine, the tube on the pipe for bolting to the case is covering half the hole and the hanging hardware doesn't line up at all.
With crush ring and additional gasket, the tube is completely in front of the case and the flanges are slightly askew, though the pipe hole and the engine port meet up. Too, in this latter configuration, the hanging hardware can be adjusted to match with the second engine case attachment hole. I had originally gone with the last configuration and had to drill a hole in the plate to the left of the attachment tube to get a bolt into the case.
With the crush ring only, it  can fit all attachment points, but the pipe flange is a little askew, though as noted before, port and exhaust hole line up. This last config is where I have settled for now.

The only thing I used was the crush ring. I left everything bolted in loose and got it squared up. I tightened it all down and it sealed. Did your pipe come with a metal spacer that you had to place on the triangle bracket? My spacer was hidden in some packing paper when I first began the install. Nothing lined up and I was about to make one myself until I decided to give the box one more looking over. Surprise! Just the piece I needed.

Yes I have the spacer, although I did have to dig through the box for the washer that goes with the long bolt:) I haven't given up hope and will try it again, but dang. I should note that when I have tried to fit prior to bolting, the triangle bracket has been loosened so it could be adjusted during the process, but whereas through the bolt tube (under the cooling fan) I can see half of the engine case's threaded hole, I have thus far been unable to line up in any fashion the hole on the triangle bracket with the one in the case. Even in my current config, that thick spacer does help with "righting" the pipe. Thank you for giving me a control group against which to measure! Good luck with the new parts (though with the holiday the waiting will be prolonged)

I would suggest writing or emailing the manufacturer with these issues. It may be a flaw in the production of your pipe. All it would take is for one weld to be off just slightly to throw the whole thing off. I would hope they would stand behind their work. Don't alter the pipe in any way, or they may not do anything about it if it is their problem.

I greatly appreciate your passing it along, but not only did I remove the restrictor cone shortly after receiving the pipe, I gave it a second (more thorough) coating of heat-resistant clear coating. Too, the Like 50 is NOT on the list of Kymco scooters this pipe is expected to fit.

Damn, wass, now I'm real nervous about installing  :-\

I'll let you know if the same problems exist with my pipe as soon as I start hooking things up next week.

Man, I wouldn't be surprised if Kymco did some 'adjusting' in production runs of the Like 50. The crush ring alone is plenty, for sure.
Just find your zen and make it happen.
