MXU / Kymco MXU250 Question - Thanks for reading
« on: August 30, 2017, 09:30:30 PM »
Hi Guys,

Had my MXU250 for around 3 years now, it has mainly been trouble free, however I got stranded with it the other day and had to get it recovered, the next day i noticed that the drive belt had been badly chewed up and there was hardly any belt there.... I then had to remove the variator to untangle the remander of the belt from around the crank, it turns out upon doing this the Oil Seal has been damaged!! The main question is, can this be changed without splitting the engine??? I am hoping so  :-\

Also upon reinstalling the new belt, the teeth on the variator fan have been stripped, is there any reason why this would happen, luckily no damage has been done to the crank

MXU / Kymco MXU250 - Starting Techniques?
« on: January 18, 2016, 08:14:27 PM »
 Hiya guys,

This is my second post in a few days but I would like to think I am getting there!

I am new to Quadbikes and am wondering if there are any tips to ensure I am starting my Quad correctly (Cold Start), I know I need to give the battery a good charge as often my quad fails to start (from cold) using the electric starter but will often fire straight up using the recoil..

It has a manual choke but I have found this to be of not much use.... also when cold the quad seems to stall quite often until warm... it will also stall when cold if I press the accelerator..

Anything I can check which might be an easy fix or are these bikes known to be pains to start in cold weather

Cheers

MXU / Kymco MXU250 Overheating Issue
« on: January 17, 2016, 12:19:29 AM »
Hi guys,

I have recently brought this quad and it has been in the garage for the last few weeks to have a new stator put on... before it went into the garage the quad never overheated... tonight it was ticking over outside (current temp outdoors around 2c) and the quad decides to overheat.. the dash shows the warning... where should I start.. could it be an air lock?

Whats easiest way to test??

Cheers
