Supertrapp exhaust on my super 8 150
« on: May 16, 2016, 02:07:14 AM »
I have a supertrapp exhaust laying around the shop. I am considering ordering a GY6 down pipe and with some minor mods, install on my bike.
Thoughts or suggestions are welcome

I am in the Caribbean so everything takes a lot longer to happen.
I saw gy6 header on ebay I will take my chances and get one. Let's hope it fits without too much cutting and bending

Just ordered the header this weekend. I will post pictures and videos when I have all the items to make the change

I am aware that there might be some differences between kymco and chinese GY6 headers but I guess  I have to wait until I receive the header to see just how much modifications are needed.
This is my next weekend project

I received my GY6 header and modified it to fit the bike. Look at the attached pictures of the modifications.
I had to remove both ends. The muffler end had a flange with three holes and the end that goes to the engine had to be cut out and re-welded. Noticed how I used epoxy to hold the flange to the pipe before welding. This allows me to properly align the flange and pipe correctly to the engine exhaust port.
I have a video but I am still trying to figure out how to load it. Nine pictures were uploaded but looks like only one is showing
