General Discussion / Re: Do Kymco's have these...?
« on: December 05, 2015, 03:52:01 AM »
Dunno if it really helps much but my owner's manual states to always check the window and the dipstick, so does my repair manual come to think of it.  Just seems like an extra step any time you do anything oil related.  Only seems useful to see the color of your oil quickly.  But once again you already could check that other ways.  Sucks even more on a motorcycle with no center kick stand. It then requires even more steps.

BTW I am so in love with the newish Aprilia!  This thing has features that should be standard on every big cc scoot.  The ecvt is more fun than I imagined.  Also you'd be surprised to see how many bikers are genuinely jealous of the transmission. The Mana is a great bike.

Just starting to get riding it down to second nature. I really like that it isnt a loud bastard mobile. I hate super loud bikes. I do like the growl it lets out when you really open the throttle though.

Bought my first motorcycle today.  Aprilia Mana

I'm still getting used to the different riding style but I really like it so far. Only 3200 miles on it.

I've been more pleased with my People GT than I was with the three before. It runs quick. Once took a Mustang GT in a drag. I've made patches on the pavement with it too lol. Looks better without the trunk but is more useful with the trunk. I had bolts on the exhaust sheild rattle out so do yourself a favore amd check them all yourself along with all bolts and screws on it. MPG is great but depends on how you ride it. Riding "spirited" will get you high 50s to low 60s but taking it easy will get you mid 60s to low 70s. Got 70 mpg my last tank and 71.4 the tank before. My lowest was 58 or 56. Have fun and stay frostie.

Well you paid half price for new. You win scratch or no scratch. I see these stories and am asking for help. I paid more for a 2 year old used GT. NOBODY sells scoots for the prices yall talk about in KC. I look atleast 4 times a week and only find full price on old new stock, or millions of chinese clunkers. If i could find a new old stock tmax for half price i'd buy it faster than light.

Don't deep cycle your battery if you can help it. It damages it. The cord is most likely the female end to a trickle charger. You need to slowly charge your battery. It doesnt take 24hrs necessarily.

Your chest?! So it ruined the air flow?  When I ride highway i get a vortex in front of my chest. It was funny when I first found it. The wind hits me mid helmet. Btw I'm 5'11" and have a stock GTI.

General Discussion / Re: Does riding change you?
« on: August 13, 2015, 01:11:01 AM »
The short answer is yes.

I (like many) never rode "2 wheelers" but occasionally would talk about what I'd get if I did.  Scooters weren't even a consideration. I had a life changing year where I hit rock bottom. As I tried to rebuild I was without driving privileges. I was informed of what is often called the DUI Special. I was able to get a Moped license and quickly found myself able to get to where work was. I was able to go and have a social life again. These things didn't change my life as much as reestablished it. As I rode though, slow changes happened. Most practically I came out of my sensory bubble and became much more aware of traffic, road hazards/quality, etc. Basically my senses woke up. Then the deeper much more precious changes began to be more noticable. I started having these moments when I was commuting where everything would just let go. I could physically feel my body relax. I could feel my mind ease up and my depression (for a short time) fade away. I would have these pure moments where I felt child like again. I still get those moments from time to time. That brought true change in me. And on the flip side. I'd never had road rage until my first time a "cager" nearly killed me. But with those moments came great adrenaline and in it's own way excitement and really feeling alive.

My 2 cents

Didn't Zombie do that already?  And would it be one of those deals where the part plus shipping is the same price other places sell for with shipping included?
