LIKE 200i / Air cleaner
« on: September 13, 2016, 08:35:23 PM »
I find it odd that I can go thousands of miles and not have a dirty air filter. It's the oddest thing. Not a speck of dust. Does anyone here experience a dirty air filter on their Like?

LIKE 200i / Like odometer is optimistic by 6.22%
« on: August 07, 2016, 05:35:10 PM »
The Like odometer is optimistic by 6.22% according to my GPS app. Today's ride had an odometer riding of 62.20 miles and a GPS reading of 58.33. I have tracked my mpg since the beginning and it averages 80.51 mpg. Given the optimism factor the true mpg is more like 75 mpg.

LIKE 200i / Found a good long stretch of level road to go WOT
« on: July 31, 2016, 04:14:44 AM »
While out riding today I found a stretch of road that was level so I could compare indicated top speed to GPS top speed. The speedometer on the Like was roughly 62/63 mph to the 60.1 mph on the GPS app on my iPhone.

A discussion on the Like section of the forum got me to thinking. Dangerous I know  ;) Anywho, my scooter (Like 200i) is now 4 years old and 14,000 miles. Kelley Blue book gives it a value range up to $900 as a trade-in and $1,400 as resale. Since my warranty expired two-years ago repair costs are all on me. While I do hope I can get at least another 4 years and 14,000 miles out of the scooter with just the basic maintenance cost I know critical compenents will begin to fail at somepoint. They are also the most expensive to replace. At what point would you stopping dropping money into your scooter and scrape it?

LIKE 200i / Valve stem
« on: May 29, 2016, 12:30:03 AM »
On the front tire of my Like the valve stem is 90 degrees for ease of access whereas the rear is standard. Yesterday while checking the pressure the front stem moved side to side. I don't recall that happening before, but I generally hold the stem while getting a reading. I checked for a leak around the stem, but there was none. Is the stem suppose to pivot from side to side?

LIKE 200i / O-ring question for oil drain/filter cap
« on: May 20, 2016, 06:01:55 PM »
Does anyone know if the Honda 91302-001-020 O-RING (30.8MM) will work on our Like oil drain/filter cap? According to KymcoPartsMonster schematic the o-ring size is 30.8mm. I don't want to have to place a one item order on KymcoPartsMonster when I can just run to a honda parts counter locally.

Eye Candy | Videos and Pics / 100 miles ridden today
« on: April 16, 2016, 03:01:31 AM »
Went for a long ride today which covered 100 miles. Decided to avoid a busy section of town and took Day Rd, in Gilroy, CA. Nice ride, but the bobbing as seen in the video I could have done without.

Yesterday while out riding I turned on the app Speedometer (GPS) to record my fastest run on a straight level stretch of road. After a couple of runs the fastest run was 59.7 on the GPS or approx 62 indicated.

General Discussion / Kymco parts source
« on: April 06, 2016, 06:39:46 PM »
Now that my dealer no longer sells Kymco's I'm forced to buy my parts elsewhere. I've used Kymco Parts Monster in the past, but it seems more and more of the parts have a Call option rather than a price and buy. I'm hoping someone here has found a better source where one can simply choose the part without having to split the order between click and buy and call and buy. Thanks in advance.

General Discussion / Hawk, rattler and me 😱
« on: March 30, 2016, 10:22:19 PM »
Today while riding the back roads a large object was spotted descending rapidly from my left before turning to come straight at me. It was then I could see it was a hawk with a snake in its talons. As it came at me at a high rate of speed, I'm thinking a collision is unavoidable. Moments before certain (from met perspective) impact and at the height about mid point of my leg shield the hawk dramatically swerved to its right while releasing the snake. Thump thump as I ran the snake over. I couldn't believe what just happened. Was I being used by the hawk to help kill its prey? About half a mile down the road I found a spot in the road to make a u-turn. As I rode back to the scene I could see the hawk circling above. Directly below where the hawk was circling a rattle snake was coiled up in the middle of the road. A guy in a pickup truck must have seen it too as he also made a u-turn right behind me to take a closer look.
